No, not because he lacks the ability but because he doesn't have enough kayfabe credibility. The last person he beat was, who, Truth? Outside getting squashed by Cena he has never hung in the ring with a main eventer. He needs to be built up more.

I think that the Miz is more than ready for the WWE championship - he's a brilliant talker, and much improved in the ring, and his determination to better himself is palpable. Face or heel, he'd make a great addition to the cache of main eventers, which risks depleting soon enough. I think folk would get behind a Miz title run and a good big feud.

No. The Miz has all the skills he needs and still improving but he needs more build up for his character. I think he should hold on to the MiTB for awhile and have some feuds with guys like Orton, Cena or other high profiled faces before cashing it in.Hell a high profile feud with Morrison would really help. He just has done very little to look like he should be in the same ring as the other Main Event guys. They seem to start doing that having him in that tag match at the end of RAW.

Miz is more ready then Swagger was. He's taken the steps, that puts him in the mix. I really enjoyed his serious beat down of Truth.

Was Sheamus ready for the WWE Championship? Was Jack Swagger ready for the World Championship? Any wrestler can be World/WWE Champion with the right push. Hopefully Miz gets that push.

Well Sheamus has only looked strong since debuting on ECW and was built up through the Survivor Series and with the Breakthrough battle royal and dominating Cena for the most part leading up to their Tables match. Was he ready? Yea

Swagger is a bit of a different story because he was ready for a strong push once he initially moved to RAW but than WWE kind of just stop doing anything with him. He pretty much went from jobbing to with little build up winning the MiTB and cashing it in and winning the title. And now I wouldn't be surprised if he falls back down like CM Punk did after his first title run. Was he ready? Not really

When Miz does finally win the Title and than loses it I don't want to see him drop back down. The problem with most MiTB winners and people who have cashed it in is that after winning the title and losing it they fall back down and don't become a main stay at that level, which is what I think WWE needs are new guys that will be at the main event level instead of the same guys over and over again.

And at this point in Miz's career I don't see him being a main stay at the Main Event level if he were to win the title, his character needs more build up. He hasn't had a serious feud with any main event type guys which is what he will need to look like he belongs.

Yes he is ready. He is great on the mic, great in the ring, and gets a big crowd reaction every time he appears.

Yes and No. The Miz is great on the mic, he can bring some heat. As for his matches there meh, not the best but I see him improving. I say yes and no because, you can give him the championship now, but his reign might be like swaggers. Or it can wait probably 2 months or so and atleast his reign would be a bit more decent since he would have some time to build up as Mr.MITB.
