Jeff Hardy : The man who could save Smackdown!

Sounds a pretty far-fetched statement but if you hear me out I'm sure you'll come around to what I mean....

Smackdown is viewed by many to be in disarray, a complete shambles that lives on big man vs Undertaker angles and has a never-ending list of talent getting injured. Most of the internet-wrestling community admits it reads the spoilers on wednesday morning and (usually because some smart-ass first-time journo says so) decides the show is missable. I know this because thats exactly what I do every week. But next week I'll tune in to see a Jeff-Matt Re-union. I want to see poetry-in-motion and then a twist-of-fate followed by Jeff's senton from the top. And to see that I'm going to watch Smackdown. So maybe, just maybe if WWE put on a half decent show I might tune in the week after.... So even tho Jeff isn't the main event his pull could give a much needed rub to the forgotten brand of sports entertainment....

Either that or another unexplicable transfer to Raw!

Who knows??

I had a sig, once.

I'm sure they'll save Jeff Hardy for something big. Maybe even debute him on the ppv after summerslam.

If they wanted it to be a suprise, they would have signed him, told him to chill for a bit (nobody knew what the hell was up with him and TNA anyhow). They could have had Matt constantly get beat in singles matches due to him facing say a Jamie Noble and Kash helps Noble win, or face London only to have Kendrick him London etc etc.

They should have NEVER told us about his return.

There are not many "Where did he sign?" moments anymore like there were when Big Show busted threw the ring or when Jericho interupted a Rock Promo.

The WWE and what seems like mainly Vince has given the Hardy Boys basically no credit for their drawing abilities over the years.

In all honesty, I TRUELY believe that given the right storylines the casual and hardcore fan would but into Matt Hardy over Rey Mysterio for that last title reign.

Yes, I said it I think Matt is capable of carrying the big belt.

Ok, back to Jeff..........

I honestly believe that they don't even need to be long term tag partners. They are both better suited as singles. What I would do is keep them both on Smackdown, have a common understanding and always have each others back, but not necessarily come down to the ring for each others matches.

You see, its all well and good when Edge and Christian go there seperate ways and go for the singles. The WWE were very quick to stop mentioning that they were "brothers", but the thing with the Hardys is EVERYONE and I mean everyone, knows they are brothers. It isnt necessary to have them fued to end their tag relationship. They should just be like "Dude, I want some singles gold" The other says "Yup, me too" and thats the end of their latest tag team partnership.

P.S. I have been drinking. Did that make sense?

Well, they did that already to an extent so I agree. Remember when Jeff had his own feud with RVD over the Hardcore belt and Matt was also some kind of champion, can't remember which.. It was during the Invasion angle..

And then Jeff had a nice singles run later on most notably, the ladder match for the title with Taker where many people including me thought Jeff might actually win the match..

The Hardys were sooooo over.. it was rediculous, and they are still young enough to bring a lot to the table for WWE.. This was a great signing by McMahon in giving Jeff a 2nd chance.

Just to pick a point over Jericho signing, everybody knew he had signed months earlier, and everyone also knew the millenium clock was down to him (Did you not see the signs in the crowd that night?)

True. That is a good point.

Damnit....haha.

But to counter that. Remember when Matt Hardy suddenly attacked Edge? I looked back at a old JVN live thread and basically everyone was like "WHA-WHA-WHAT?!?!?!?!? HOLY SHIT !!!"

I just think there was potential for a holy shit moment had they kept the signing under raps.

The difference with Jericho is that everyone knew his contract was up. Nobody really knew what the hell the story with Hardy was.

It's like if you saw "X-Pac is coming to DX !!" vignettes you would be like "Oh great, greaseball is back" but if he came running in from the crowd to help DX at Summerslam you would jump out of your seat and cheer.

Thats the subtle differences that can get someone over quickly.
