Ever since DX reformed during the summer people have been talking about the breakup and how it will happen. With Michaels and Triple H both challenging for the WWE title in a triple threat with every man for himself at Survivor Series, there is renewed speculation about one man stabbing the other in the back with the ultimate prize on the line. The match seems to be designed to tease a breakup, or maybe even follow through with it. There have even been rumours of Triple H retiring Michaels at Wrestlemania 26.
Even if it doesn't happen in this match, DX can't last forever. There are 3 options really. Either Triple H turns on his partner just as he did back in 2002, Michaels turns on Triple H and goes heel himself, or the two simply go their seperate ways with no big breakup. The question is, which would you rather see?

Latest rumor I've heard on Michaels retiring is that he currently feels he has 2-3 years left and would likely get a sendoff beyond what Flair did. I do see a WM feud between them entirely possible.

On the one hand if they turned on each other, them fueding would be horrendously stale and would suck beyond words. Then again it would keep them together so I could avoid their matches easier.... Hmm...

I'd rather see Shawn turn on Hunter... just because most people wouldn't expect it. I know a lot of people are hoping that some younger people get the top spots at WM 26, but I think a match between HBK/HHH could do well if the roles were different.

If i had to choose i would say HBK turning on HHH. Simply because like dxanman said people wouldn't really expect it. everyone would be expecting HHH to turn on HBK, Plus i think its time we had a full time heel HBK again. His mini feud with Taker provided us with a lil taster of what having a heel HBK again felt like, why not make it permanent for one last time.

How about just work HBK the way the worked his last two mania feuds: kind of make him the devilish one of the feud but maintain his face status to keep the feud respectable and not some overblown stale blood feud.

I personally think heel HBK would be a pretty bad idea, mainly due to the way he's been booked the last couple of years. When he hasn't been "the guy you're supposed to feel sorry for" as the victim babyface, he's been cracking lame family friendly jokes in DX and dressing up as a cook getting tata tots thrown at him by a little girl. Some would argue that all this would just provide ammunition for a heel turn, but personally I don't think he could be a credible heel at this stage.
On top of all that, obviously HBK vs HHH would be another stale as hell feud brought back to life, and the whole turning on each other thing is old anyway.
I vote the third option.

What if HBK used all that "fan-friendly" stuff with DX as the reason why, like Tommy said, and turned on Hunter, saying that he was tired of being the "jokester". Or, something along those lines.
