I was looking at Matt Hardy's myspace page and they had a pic from Wrestlemaina post party. Edge and Matt were there smiling with arms around each other, and the caption was "Some of WWE's biggest secrets" Which leads me to believe the whole release of Matt was a work the whole time.
Well I read Edge gives a lot of money for the trip for the troops overseas each year. He got on the micraphone and apologized to the fans when he just got injured.
I have for a while thought he may be a good guy in real life, and cares about the business and fans more than we give him credit for.
I don't think the affair, if there was one, makes him a bad person anyways. I wouldn't doubt it having been a complete work. As nasty as the WWE is, would they really make a storyline about that?

I doubt it was a work. Matt was losing a lot of ground due to his injury at the time, and his transfer to Raw, there's no way in my eyes that WWE could've forseen how Lita having an affair with Edge and then them firing Matt would have captured the fans hearts like it did.
Plus if it was a work how in the hell did they manage to fail at booking the whole thing well. It was a fucking travesty how the whole angle was handled.
I doubt that Matt and Edge would still be at each others throats though. Having to work in such close quarters all the time would force people to make friends again, and they were damned close before it happened so it would be pretty easy to slip back into that frame of mind once the dust settled.

That post makes me think of Talladega Nights, where Ricky Bobby is on couch talking to the other guy on the phone....
They did a story about Jake the Snakes addiction, remember Jerry Lawler pouring alcohol down his throat.
It's not WWE, but this reminded me of how WCW took Scott Hall's real life alcohol problem and turned it into a storyline (having him bring beer to the ring, coming out drunk, throwing up on people, etc.) Wrestling promotions have never been afraid to take wrestler's real problems and turn them into storylines.

Weeeeeell, back to the actual topic, Edge being hurt is a major blow to whatever project they had set up for Rated Y2J. Jericho now has two titles and no partner to defend it with. I had high hopes that they would revitalize the Tag Titles like they are trying to do with the IC title on SD (Smackdown FTMFW!!! BTW). As for what they plan to do now; lets hope its not something stupid.
P.S. Was anyone else thinking they are going to have Kane and Khali have some mutual respect tag team going after what happened on today's Smackdown? *Shudders*
