Rep Power: 51 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Monk's ECW Reviews & Thoughts - 6/13/06 ECW Positives - Rob Van Dam/Edge/Cena/Heyman segment. Pretty sweet, good chemistry. Cena is impressing me he's grown as a wrestler, and performer. Edge also has been real good. Van Dam is cool, and I'd like to see a triple threat match between the three. - Barbie - Oh man she was fuckin hot! I wanted to bust in her vagina - Battle Royal was pretty cool. Thank God Sabu won the match so he can go to Vengeance. It would have made little sense to have Big Show win. - I'm pretty sure Trinity wore the hottest outfit I've ever seen tonight. I wanted to stab her with my penis my God she's amazing. Negatives - Sandman Vs The Zombie- Pretty funny match to pretty much tell wrestling fans that they wouldnt be having a serious zombie as a wrestler. Sandman legit looked like he hurt the Zombie bad. Still pretty lame though. Mixed - Kurt Angle Vs Justin Credible - Obviously Kurt Angle has to be up top, but they could have atleast had Justin Credible get a few punches in. Overall - Very solid first show!

Rep Power: 9 ![]() ![]() | Yep that was off the hook, I was a little dubious about the crowd, didnt have the atmosphere of the Hammerstein's close confines but the show and the booking was superb. Little details made it good like Joey saying "Edge knows better to go back through the ECW locker-room". It's also good that they're not going with the triple threat at Vengance as there is an apathy towards three-way dances at the moment. The zombie promo and skit was superb and you could just feel Heyman's humour shining thru. Continously doing this with Sandman beating up bad gimmicks for a month will be quite intresting. Kelly ..... . Like the way they showcased Angle in the best way you can. In ECW he is a face thru and thru, but now he can be face and show the intensity he usually reserves for when he's a heel. The battle royal was also well booked with Big Shows dominance shining thru and not weakening him when Sabu won. Vince is putting a lot of faith in Sabu at the moment, he's had the main event of ECW Vs WWE the final segment of Smackdown before a PPV. A PPV title shot and a PPV match against the champ of the last 15 months. To sum up, a well booked and good start for the "new breed", lets hope they reconsider the shared tapings with Smackdown. Otherwise ECW debut scores a worthy,   1/2 out of      |

Rep Power: 78 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Just went over to some crazy ECW Boards and they are killing the show.. calling it "The worst thing they've ever seen" and "2/10".. I won't go that far with it, but I thought it did have some major issues.. Postives There were some good things.. -I liked the new set design.. It's very ECW-like and they did a good job of covering up the Smackdown! one.. -I liked the fact that RVD was presented with the ECW World Championship but held on to the WWE Championship. It shows respect for the title and now he's a dual champion.. -The poke at SCI-FI was funny as hell, bringing out the zombie and letting Sandman kill him in 30 seconds. Classic Heyman right there.. -The battle royal was ok.. I like how Show is being booked (even though some ECW fans think he should be on the same level as Stevie Richards) and I liked Sabu winnign the match because it should set up a more exciting version of the Cena/Sabu match from a couple weeks ago.. Negatives -I think the crowd is going to be devastating if they stay with the SD! brand on the road.. They weren't very lively and they didn't know how to handle the ECW guys, it was liek they never seen them before.. And zero chants you are used to. No intimacy with the fans either.. -Kurt Angle squashing Justin Credible. Not a huge deal but I think Credible should have looked a tiny bit better. I know Angle is a machine and that's good, but Credible was an ECW main eventer.. Unless they have big plans for someone I'm not aware of, shouldn't he still look a little competitive? -They are going to have some huge issues with all those damn commericals in a one hour program. SCI-FI did a piss poor job with all that advertsing and just like TNA, how can you expect to have some big matches or 3 or 4 storylines going at once? What I think they should do is two hours anyway, leave the last hour for Sci-Fi and broadcast the 1st hour over the internet until they get more tv time. -Bringing out Kelly aka Barbie Blank.. She has no business in ECW. I love her looks :smitten: , she's amazing, but she's lost.. completely.. She'd be better on RAW or SD! with their divas.. ECW divas need to be able to mix it up a bit. Trinity is a perfect example of a girl who fits better and yeah.. she looked pretty hot also. -I don't like all the WWE stars like Edge and Cena being a part of this if they aren't going to join ECW. They need to be as seperate as possible.. Now maybe that'll happen after Vengeance, I hope so.. This week's ECW to me was not a great start, but not horrible either..  1/2 out of

Rep Power: 9 ![]() ![]() | Apparently Sci-Fi freaked after ONS and the chants there so thats why they taped early, Joey also asked the crowd to remember that there were families present before the show. Personally I'd rather see ECW fans drive Families away from Smackdown shows so this brand can get itself established. |

Rep Power: 78 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | They are fighting way too many obstacles right now.. Everyone is pointing the finger at McMahon, and while he is the one who stuck them with a SD! schedule, it's hardly all his fault.. SCI-FI, as much as Heyman thought they'd be cool, are already getting way too involved with the product and it's clear as much advertising these bastards want to do, ECW is going to have a tough time building anything without an extra hour.. I'm telling you.. The 1st hour on ECW.com would be perfect until they can get a better TV deal.

Rep Power: 9 ![]() ![]() | If the ratings come in good Heyman and WWE will wield a bit more power to slap Sci-Fi down a bit on the demands. It's a bit of a piss-take really, do you think Sci-Fi phone up Doctor Who producers and demand vampires? did they insist things like sliders remain clean? |

If they can somehow keep the ratings to above SCi-Fi's expectations (which you'd think they'd get above a 1.0 on a Tuesday night) then they'll be able to be more EXTREME and less ummm.. non-extreme..

Nice to see both belts are being kept which more than likely points to Edge winning at Vengence with Van Dam keeping the ECW belt. - The set looks very cool now they have added the titan tron. Its cool how they come through the crowd instead of the normal route. - The couple of new faces last night especially Trinity with the FBI and Barbie. - Big Show being used as an effective big man. Bad Bits: - Angle not having a longer match against someone decent. - The Zombie, although it is nice to see the Ultimate Warrior working again, it doesn't suit ECW. Nice to see Warrior hasn't lost his skill on the mic. - Sandman having crap music. - Not enough new talent coming through. I know it is only an hour show, it shouldn't be built around all the old ECW stars. Call Punk & a few others from OVW and let them showcase themselves. Overall :up::up: 1/2 out of :up::up::up::up:
