..and RVD is the new WWE Champion, where do they go from here.. 1st I have to say I'm surprised because I really thought they wouldn't even count it as a title reign but he's listed as champion on the website, Heyman said it stands, and McMahon backed him up on it..

The title is supposed to be "rechristened" the ECW Championship on tonight's ECW debut.. but I just don't see that happening. I think Cena will show up Austin style (maybe in a pimped out Escalade?) and ruin the whole thing..

..but RVD will still be champion, so what do they do? I'm expecting Cena to weasel his way into the match at Vengeance (HHH anyone?) and win the title back.. during a triple threat with RVD and Edge..

Too bad.. if that happens. Number one, I think triple threats are played out and two, I think the title should go to Edge.

Honestly I think Smackdown will not be a brand in 3 months and ECW will be and that Cena (the ultimate heel for ECW) Edge and Orton will all be on that brand. So really them can keep the title in Limbo for a while yet as they can keep pushing ECW on Sci-Fi on Raw that way.

It does look like they are going to do away with SmackDown and have ECW be the 2nd brand.

I think that would be a good idea at this point. There is no interest in SmackDown and tons of interest in ECW. It would only make sense.

What i'd personally do is let Van Dam have the ECW title but then have Heyman give the spinner belt back to Vince so Cena & Edge can fight it out at Vengence for the WWE title.

Van Dam deserves that belt and i don't think they should do an Edge and have him lose it inside of a month to the person he lost it to, it wouldn't be right for bussiness.

Cena has had his time, he isn't the person he was when he won the belt, fans seem to boo him more than ever because of him being who he is. He is good at certain things but wrestling or storytelling inside the ring isn't one of them and to be a good champion you must be able to do that to some degree.

I would like to see them just let RVD keep the spinner belt and and let him rename it the ECW title then get rid of it all together by replacing it with a new ECW title belt.

Then in the WWE they could hold a tournament for the WWE title and just bring back the one that they used to have before the spinner belt.

The thing is you really technically "can't" do that. When I put can't in quotations is because Vince can really do whatever the hell he wants but ultimately the title lineage needs to make some sense in the long run.

Correct me if I am wrong here, but I believe the current WWE Title (which RVD has has never been rechristened anything. I know they have ditched an old version for a new (ala the spinner belt) but they havent actually changed it to anything else.

I honestly think Vince would be a freaking moron to have it suddenly become the ECW title after decades and decades as the WWE title.

What they should have done is had Rey's title (on someone like Batista or Undertaker, basically not little ass Rey) and have him lose it at ONS2, but that's not what happened.

Now we will most likely have Cena bum rush the show, steal his title back and they will then announce some stipulation match with Edge, Cena and RVD at Vengence, then have Edge win it.

Actually, that sounds really stupid. Shit, I dont know how they are going to work this. But I can tell you this. That title will NOT be the new ECW title. It just has too much WWE history.

I see it this way.

When Douglas won the NWA title all those years ago and renamed it the ECW title, did the NWA let it die? No. They brought the belt back and continued to use it and still do to this day.

How i see it is Heyman will tonight bring out a new ECW belt and will hand back the other belt.

All Heyman wanted was an ECW title and now he has it.

Yeah NWA did it a bunch of times putting their belt up against another in unification matches and then spliting it off with a Dusty Finish or similar, hell I think thats how the WCW title came into existance.

i think they should just keep one belt and keep all the main event guys showing up on each other shows. that gets alot of people to watch and the rating will go up... then down the road vase out smackdown becuase it sucks.

Maybe when Edge wins it he will have some theme belt to go along with his Rated R Superstar gimmick. I am looking for anything to get rid of that god awful spinner belt. Worst belt design ever IMO.
