If I was merging, the ECW title would be merged with the IC & US.
As for the world titles, I'd simply have the two best options for the belt face off for the new unified WWE Championship. There's no need for it to be complicated.
Why merge a world title with 2 secondary titles? All that would do is the loss of both secondary belts and result in the WWE having 2 world titles and no secondary titles (the ECW Championship IS a world title and even WWE considers it one, they most recently called it son when Christian won it and they said Christian had finally won a world title).

This sounds interesting and finally, hopefully WWE can be one again instead of three seperate brands. The tri-brand idea worked for a while but then got stale and boring. It's definitely time to "shake things up" so to speak. So now I believe that at WM 27 because 26 is too soon to start a storyline, the champs after next years WM should start to have a feud over who is the better champ. It will be difficult to see who will be the champs by then so the creative team will have to come up with something pretty good. Then all the top guys can go after the one WWE title and this will create better and more exciting storylines just like the good ol' days.

If it's a world title and more important than those two secondardy titles, then why was it the only one of the three left of this year's Mania card?
If it was a legitimate world title it'd appear on the biggest show of the year, or at least the champion would.
Nobody considers it to be anything other than a secondary title.
