I believe in Shelton Benjamin. I believe if put in a feud with the right main eventer, someone could get him over. Now he needs a better character, I really liked the character he had in 2006 (No not Mama Benjamin's son) he just needs a better character, a reason for us to care about him. I think Shelton is one of the best workers they have in WWE...the problem is no one cares for him. Shelton is better in the ring then 80% of the guys in there now in my opinion, but with a character that no one cares for...it brings him down alot. I would stick him in a lengthly feud with HBK...those two would steal the show every time they were in the ring together.

Mama Benjamin actually made Shelton interesting again. Before that people were slowly losing interest in him.
Well to be fair, again he didn't have much of a character before that. But he did have potential to have a feud with HBK. And as I said a guy like that could of got him over for sure. Shelton could of went from being the great athlete...then went to being the obsessive guy who loves winning. That's where I thought they were going but instead they gave him a joke character. Rumor is that he was in the doghouse...I don't know. Anyways...many people have a different take on the gimmick. I thought it sucked balls, and it was embarrasing to see him being potrayed like that, and embarssing just to watch. Anyways shortly thereafter he had this cocky gimmick they were going with. And again, I think it they had of put a better effort into trying to get that character over, I think it could of worked. I think it's a mix of Shelton and also the creative team, for not getting him over. As I said I think he has what it takes, but he needs a better effort in presenting his character, and at the same time he needs to be booked a hell of alot better. The Gold Standard thing is pretty stupid in my opinion.

Being a good wrestler =/= being a main eventer. And as said before, Shelton doesn't have the character to pull anything of than a bluechip guy rising up the card. Putting him in a feud with Michaels may produce some alright matches, but it doesn't suddenly give him charisma. No main eventer has the ability to simply give him charisma.

He has about as much charisma as a tree stump, only if you drew a smiley face on the tree stump or sat Mr. Socko on it, the tree stump would actually be more over than Shelton.
He's a fantastic wrestler and I respect what he did at the University of Minnesota, but I honestly can't understand how the hell he still has a job in sports entertainment. I would be more entertained watching flies fuck than seeing Shelton attempt to cut a promo.
He can't even put his fucking belt on right.

Shelton has to have the charisma and mic skills to main event. He just doesn't have it. And once in a while his matches dissapoint. He's has five years to improve. I don't see him on top.
