I meant the way his moves don't focus on one point or another, thus softening them up type of thing. Like, Rey's offence is kinda all over the place in that department, as is Michaels'.
There are a few examples of Michaels targeting a body part, but in general yeah. That isn't the definition of psychology though, that is just an example of psychology. Not every wrestler has to work on a body part in their matches. Rey's offence is more designed to stun his opponents. At the end of the day it's just about keeping somebody down for a three count, and this can be done in a variety of ways. It is usually only a certain type of wrestler who will work over a body part in the majority of their matches a la Bret Hart. Both Rey and Michaels get psychology.

Eh, Jericho is starting to wane in the in ring ability department, but that's just me. I forgot about him, so Christian isn't easily the best, but those two are head and shoulders above the rest of the roster.

How can you say that considering how good his recent matches have been? lol
The Rey feud has been feud of the year match quality wise.
I wouldn't say they were head and shoulders above the rest either, because Rey and Swagger have been pretty good this year and Cena is always good.

Well, it's not a massive wane, obviously, and he can still put on good to great matches. Rey really has seeming stepped up this year also. Jericho is winding down in his career I guess, and I just see a small drop in overall performance, but he can still go when he's needed and he will be able to do so wholeheartedly for another 2-3 years before a steady decline.

While I'm a fan of Swagger, the reason he's been so good is because he's worked with Christian and Matt before that, with a good match with Cena and work with Finlay on top of that. They've given him the best to work with to aid his development.

True, but he has still stepped up to the plate. He has put a lot into the matches as well as his opponents. They wern't carry jobs or anything.
I just realised how far off topic we've gone lol. I wouldn't really care if Truth was released and there are many others who deserve a push more than him. That's all I've got really.

Jericho is nowhere near as athletic as he was 10 years ago. He is slower and cannot pull off some of the offense maneuvers which were his trademarks back then. Although he is out of his prime athletically he still knows how to put together great matches and is one of the more consistent Main Event performers in the WWE.
As for Psychology, to my understanding it isn't just about targeting a body part although that is one of the easiest ways to demonstrate it. Think of if wrestling were real. Psychology is having everything you do in the ring make sense and building on that.

I always had psychology down to how you worked the match, and how you were able to tell a story in the ring almost. That's why Ric Flair vs Shawn Michaels was a horrible match in itself, but the psychology, the story and emotion behind it was what made so many people call it a fantastic match, basically for the whole emotion and story of Michaels retiring Flair.
