Has Vince Mcmahon Set ECW Up?

Everyone remembers back in the day, when Scott Hall & Kevin Nash left WWE and joined WCW. Everyone thought Vince had sent them there to destroy WCW, which he hadn't but thinking about this and then watching WWE v ECW, has Vince pulled something off that no-one would expect?

Let me explain.

ECW is now just about to begin its course and start as this new brand and last night they gained the 7ft Big Show to bolster ECW.
But has this been set up by Vince?
Imagine a month or so down the road, ECW has been a big success with everyone pulling their weight and making it watchable wrestling. Then, Big Show begins to mess up matches, interfere in other people's bussiness and start to turn the entire ECW roster against him. Over time, Show is an outcast and is slowly disrupting the entire ECW brand.
Then Show begins recieving various notes and gifts from a stranger until he recieves one that basically says "Your Work is Done, Next Week i Shall Finish It" which could then lead to Vince appearing on ECW and claiming that Show was never ECW and was actually sent to ECW by Vince to destroy it.
You could also include Angle in this and have Vince say that he knew Heyman was going to pick Angle and that before Angle went, Vince had disscussed a takedown of ECW and he needed Kurt's help as well. Which would then shock everyone watching and have Angle & Show rip off their ECW shirts for WWE ones.
Heyman would then try to declare war on WWE but Vince says because ECW is controlled by him, he no longer wants ECW around and decides to pull the plug on ECW once and for all.
Vince would then be all happy until Heyman lets Vince know that whilst he was at Raw or Smackdown when this all started, he held discussions with Linda Mcmahon who agreeded to sell ECW back to Heyman.
This would send Vince into a rage but there would be nothing he could do about it as Heyman declared WWE to finally once again have some more competition and ECW would once again become a seperate company.
Over the following weeks, ECW grows and is able to push WWE in the ratings, sparking off once again the monday night wars. Which would benefit everyone involved.
WWE may once again be able to write decent storylines while ECW would once again be controlled by Heyman and this would make everyone happy again and give the viewing audience a choice.

Discuss.

Oh yes.. I see where you are going with this and you put a lot of thought into it for sure.. Nice work..

There's one problem though.. I think Vince has said that he supports ECW and is the one who brought ECW back..

In order for your storyline to make sense they would somehow have to reveal soemthing where Vince was forced into putting ECW back on the air.. See what I'm saying?

Good read though.

Oh yeah, i think it could be maybe Shane forcing Vince into it or something along those lines.

However, with the writing the way it is at the moment, i'd be surprised if they have even thought this far through yet.

I love reading other peoples ideas.

Not this one though, it was rubbish (I'm kidding!!)

Always possible, but I would have thought if this plays out as angle then the title of being the "destroyer of ECW" would have gone to someone that would be a more deserving case than Big Show.

On another point, I am really torn now about this whole ECW/WWE thing. There just isn't enough ECW performers to put the brand forward, so WWE guys are stepping into the breech but this just makes it look like the 2001 Invasion when SCSA was "supposedly" wrasslin' for WCW. Putting Angle and Show in as the big names of ECW is vaguely ridiculous bearing in mind both guys complete and total lack of previous attachment to the brand.

RVD should have been supported on the ECW side of things by Mick Foley, someone else with a large ECW attachment and marquee name. Having Mick turn and be on the WWE side of things just makes the whole thing look stupid.

I think we are going to see the ECW brand start out as a bit of a downer.. With not too many "ECW guys", too much WWE crap, and so on and so on..

However, I think everyone needs to stick with it. I believe what's really going to happen is they are finally going to get around to making those new stars we always used to hear about. I think Heyman will slowly phase out the WWE influence, slowly phase out the ECW has beens, and we'll be left with top notch talent like CM Punk left to grow right before our eyes.. and take the ECW brand into the future..

The only thing "ECW" that will be left is the no holds barred rules and some profanity.. however, we'll be left with a hell of a show..

That's the point I guess. I've heard (not seen) what happened last night and that it was pretty obvious a lot of the guys were wrestling a slightly different style and generally not being held back in their performances. Now if that is allowed to continue and the group is allowed to be a completely separate identity, working a different style and bringing in (and building up) guys like CMPunk to go to the top without having the stigma of being a WWE jobber for years, then they could move forward.

However if they are wrestling a WWE style, Kevin Dunn is producing it along the lines of WWE programming and the group are just pushing a ton of guys that are WWE recognised names (e.g look at who the last six or so guys were in the rumble match last night!!!) then they're screwed and the 12 week run won't lead to anything

Yeah good thinking Mikk, but I really don't think Vince would go through all this money/trouble just for a storyline to put down a company he's already taken over....but ya never know what actually can come of this new brand!!
