Holy S**t! I missed the spirit squad this week.

First up, I actually missed these guys and their stupid shenanigans and wacky poses.

Second up, I cant help thinking WWE really missed an opportunity.

The SS are the absolute anti-thesis of ECW. They are everything ECW hates and riles against and they were the reason Joey Styles quit. Joey also mentioned them in his superb quitting promo. Not just put this gimmick aside they are 5 very competant bright workers. I got sick to death of hearing that the new breed will be unleashed next tuesday, Sci Fi have to realise they need to sell to wrestling fans and not Buffy fans but if we are going that way then Terry Funk and Balls are no new breed I ever saw. Why didnt they book a SS vs ECW's new breed match and get the CM Punks and Paul Burchills and other young hungry workers out there for a wrestling match. A clear cut match with no blurred line between Heel and Face just a lot of talent and a lot of the new breed we've heard so much about.

Yeah, they could have done that but I think they are just going to wait for Heyman to work his magic with these younger guys.. I agree it could have helped them in the long run, but right now it looks like they are going to start ECW with mostly familiar faces and then slowly incorporate the new blood in..and slowly phase out the Balls Mahoney's of the world.

They need the ECW-style fan to slowly welcome in the young guys because at first they are going to be all about RVD and the others.. They need to start showcasing the young talent in short, 10 minute matches to get everyone familiar with them, and then work from there..

Soon enough the Guido's and Mamaluke's will turn into the Punk's and Burchill's and nobody by that point will even care because by that point.. Heyman will have had us fall in love with the new blood and want more of them.

I didn't miss them. I enjoyed their absence.

I think that was the first time in about 5 weeks they weren't in the main event. Talk about a major push......sheesh.

No real room for them ont his episode. It will be interesting to see now if they take the reigns in the DX fued. I don't want to see HBK/HHH vs Vince/Shane at all. I would rather DX take the belts off Kenny and Mikey. At least that way the belts are prominently used.
