Jeff is an established main eventer, he just isn't a top guy and never will be.

People have mentioned Swagger here and I agree that him, along with Bourne, a perhaps the most impressive rookies the 'E has had since Cena.

Re: The Next Big Thing

In that case the answer is none of the above. They may main event and hold belts but none of the three options will ever be long-term headliners for the same reason Rey Mysterio and AJ Styles won't be and that is because of their size.

Well somebody has to be on Smackdown. Cena/Trips/Tista are all on RAW and Taker is injured.

Who do you think WILL be the next real big thing then? Swagger?

Re: The Next Big Thing

For smackdown I imagine Edge and Taker will continue to be top guys with guys like Hardy, Jericho, Punk and Rey going almost on a cycle in challenging and maybe getting a short reign in. Could also see Umaga getting a reign soon.

As for the next big thing it all depends on who they decide to push, but I would say Swagger has the most potential.

Re: The Next Big Thing

I voted Punk because while WWE seem to be pushing Morrison as a babyface I think Punk is way more over with the fans.

It's done of them! It is MVP! Have you seen the increase of fan reaction for this man? He is on a major roll! He is the top mid carder right now and is having a good title reign. His match with Orton was very good. He is the future face of this company if he keeps this up.

Punk is seemingly being booked to be the top guy on the brand imo. We'll give it time but considering he's beaten the World champion two weeks in a row and SHOULD go over Umaga ultimately.. I think he will finally get his push.

Re: The Next Big Thing

The lack of Jack Swagger disappoints me.

But out of the list, I'd have to say it's a throw up between CM Punk and John Morrison. Morrison is just now transitioning into a face, and I personally would give it a little why before I judge. Though from what I've seen, he's getting himself over pretty well. CM Punk booking wise, has been hit and miss. I personally would love to see the title around his waist, but in a more credible fashion. I MARKEDDDDDDDDDDDDD when he cashed in the first time, but I believe it was Steve that would always bring up that point.

If the booking continues to go as is, I would be happy with Punk winning it. He's being look to be a Main Event player by going over Edge twice in a row, and once Punk gets through with Umaga..I can hopefully see him cashing it in.

Re: The Next Big Thing

Well I can only assume the lack of Bourne/Swagger/MVP/Miz is because these are SD only guys..
