I really hope the tag team division gets a serious boost by the unification match at Mania.
Thinking back to the golden days of tag teams, and the feud between Edge & Christian, The Dudleys and The Hardys reminds me how good tag teams used to be and that they used to be the matches I looked forward to more than any.

I'd love to be hopeful about this (and with The Miz & Morrison and The Colons in the unification match, it's hard not to be) but it's obvious WWE doesn't give a damn about Tag wrestling as a whole, so I see they belts getting used as much as they do currently anyway.
...and the rules don't apply to me, brother.

That's what I'm hoping, Summers. Either that or they put all the Tag Teams on one brand in The Draft... Depends on what The Draft actually achieves really.

They may have half assed booked it, but looking at the tag team division spread out over two brands, there was no way WWE could book even one successful tag division. I think the failure of the tag division is partly because WWE didnt care about it, but I'd also throw out the theory of it being hard to book a tag division for a year when there isnt much depth and round two or three tag teams per brand. After Wrestlemania WWE has a chance to move all tag teams to one brand of have the belts defended across all three brands. Eitherway, now the division will have depth and I think we will see the belts get more attention.

I am hopeful about the unification though I can't see a drastic improvement unless they go back to single brand PPVs or give the tag titles some PPV time.
Well although it has been obvious for a while that they have not really focused on the tag division (or any division which isn't the main event scene) I am hopeful that the unification of the titles will mark the beginning of a new era of tag team wrestling in WWE. The main problem recently has been the lack of teams. I have made so many posts talking about how WWE don't have a strong enough tag division to have it spread over two brands. At least now we will get a fairly good division, assuming they are all drafted onto the same show, which they really should be.
If one show is given the tag belts (preferably Smackdown) I don't see how the division wouldn't be good. Alternatively they could give RAW the tag division and Smackdown the divas. That way they could keep Priceless with Orton.
"A few weeks prior to signing with WCW, I witnessed Hogan wrestle Flair on Nitro. Now strictly from a fan perspective, it was very hard to watch. What I witnessed that night was two legends that were shells of their former selves still trying to do it. Watching Hogan & Flair that night just wasn't right. In my opinion the bookers were just exploiting them to try to pop a number. It was a desperate situation and that's exactly the way it came across on TV."

Are you saying you would watch Punk fuck a bald chick in a porno?

I'm saying I'd watch Punk alone in a porno.
I'm really hoping to see the titles being defended on all three brands to get those teams some air time but sadly I think the best way for it to work would be to make them exclusive of SMackdown!/ECW as Raw is primarily about the main eventers
Making the tag divison exclusive to one brand with give a tremendous amount of credibility back to the titles at this rate
