End to the brand extension imminent?

Maybe not.. but hear me out. You have Nitro and Melina to RAW, Angle and RVD to ECW, Benoit and JBL on the injured list, and OJ fired (lol..)

So where does this leave SD! ? Some would say hell, but oh no wait.. they have Batista and Orton coming back right? Well sorta..I see it like this..

With Batista and Orton about to come back that gives WWE two more top level guys but I don't think either will be shipped to ECW. I do believe however, that there's a strong possibilty of another top tier star or two or three could be going to ECW instead. Maybe Edge, Shelton, or Rey Mysterio to name a few.. They seem to fit the ECW mold more then a HBK, HHH, or Cena would.

Then they can take some role players as I like to call them, the Charlie Hass' of the world and so on, send them to ECW and the rest will be released or demoted to OVW. WWE continues on as one brand and ECW another..

The show "SD!" stays but it and RAW continue on as WWE television and ECW as a seperate brand.

Huh?

Sorry that didn't make any sense to me at all!!

They are already doing them as separate brands, albeit under the cover of being under the same roof really.

ECW has it's own TV slot already booked doesn't it on the Sci Fi network? Smackdown & Raw....WWE has an obligation to produce these programmes for the networks they are on so that won't be changing any day soon.

What was your point again!!??

Oh, my point was that now is the best time if they ever wanted to combine RAW and SD!.. I seriously don't think they have enough talent to support SD! as a seperate brand so I'd like to see them ship the more hardcore or technically sound wrestlers to ECW and keep the charisma based wrestlers for their entertainment brand (RAW and SD! combined) and do away with one of the world titles.

Ah.....got it !!

Yes, I'd be fine with that. Smackdown has always been the "b" show anyway so they should just book it like that and build lower card feuds.

Isnt the new upn/wb network picking up Smackdown? Either way I think WWE will rebound on Smackdown, and get better. Hopefully they will showcase more new talent and create stars like the used to...

Well if they do re-combine the rosters it would be a little difficult as they would once again have too many people all fighting for the same belts which is why the brand split was originally introduced.

They could really do with another draft to shake it up again but instead of shifting the mid-card and bellow, shift people like HHH or HBK or Kane to Smackdown to give them a boost.

Obviously HHH would never go to Smackdown because Raw is the main show and he is the main Wrestler and i doubt Vince would let him go to the 'B' show.

Kane would be a very good fit for Smackdown because he has a few people over there that he hasn't faced and it would be fresh competition for all involved. And also if he moved to Smackdown he would certainly get another title shot as on Raw he won't get one again unless all the top eventers got injured.

However, if the brand split continued, they should draft some names from Raw to Smackdown to help that brand along and also they should have Smackdown live.

The big problem i've seen with Smackdown is the fact that because it is pre-recorded people have the opportunity to view the spoilers days before it goes out on TV.

This leads to segments being re-filmed where if it was live it would be more of a surprise and would have to get it right first time which would have the stars work harder as they knew they only had 1 chance to get it right.

But looking at WWE the way it is, the brand combine does seem on the horizion and with it would come a massive kull of the roster to fit the people in they need.

If they treated the CW belt with a bit of respect and likewise the Tag division, re-incarnated the European, dropped the US, united the World kept the womens I'd be happy. Even with PPV's 4 weeks apart you could have 16 hours of TV to build worth while fueds for each of these belts and not be limited to the Main event always being the main event. (I like HHH but he's back to being every segment and the end of the show, it burns his longevity away). I.E. the main event could sit out Raw one week and the top Tags could have the main event or the No. 1 contender match. Ideally PPV's could go back to the tried and tested formula.

Curtain Jerker Match : Euro or CW
Intrest match : A storyling Tag or two Mid-carders
Womens Title
No.1 Contenders Match
Intercontinental
Main-Eventers fued
Euro or CW title match : popcorn break
World Title match

And with the rosters back together each one of those matches could have been afforded at least 4 chances to sell into their match so the bottom of the card is not just 2 people who happened to not be doing anything that month.

I had a sig, once.

It's Vince's company and he just needs to put his foot down. HHH of late has shown that he's willing to do what's best for business. As long as you give HHH a big feud (like the one he's in now) he'll be happy.. It doesn't have to be for the title because hell, look how long Cena has been dominating the scene.

HHH also doesn't need to be in 3 segments a show because if you combine the rosters he'll have plenty of air-time between the two shows.. So lets forget about HHH for a second..

The ECW brand will still be around. So you ship all the guys that fit the ECW style or new vision, whatever you want to call it... you ship them there..

So really, your roster isn't that much bigger then it was before and you don't need to ship the main eventers to ECW because it's not sports entertainment. You don't need a Batista or Taker over there.. It wouldn't make sense anyway..

WWE would be so much better off if they killed off the brand extention with SD! and RAW. SD! is so shit right now, there's no saving it with the current writers, roster, etc..

Lol.....the brand extension would never have been necessary in the first place had ol' big nose not been written into just about every segment over four hours of tv in a week!!

So, yes, let's hope lessons have been learnt!!

Didnt you love the storylines with his dog which dominated his feud with Y2J just before the brand split?
