Look at the people who were the mainstay main eventers last year and look at the mainstay main eventers this year. You can go back probably 4 years and you wont see much of a change. WWE seems to have talent rotting in the rather non existent mid cards. Now they may not be as great as the talent currently main eventing, but at the very least they are on the same level as the younger talent WWE's competition hopes will be the future stars of their company. Can WWE really keep your interest for another year knowing there is a possiblity that next year wrestlers like Triple H, Edge, Randy Orton, John Cena, HBK, and Undertaker could be the main attractions of WWE once again?
They really need to add new names to the main even list. Christian should be there, Kane should be there, i hope Wrestlemania keeps the Big Show there Eventually people will notice the repitition. You can only have Edge vs Cena and HHH vs Orton so many times before it gets boring

Well everybody says every year that ''this will be the year'' when these young guys make their breakthrough, but so far it hasn't happened.
That said, I think a few of them have a good chance this year, simply because the main eventers have stayed the same for so long that surely even WWE realize that things have to change sooner rather than later. I still find WWE entertaining but it is getting fairly tiresome seeing Triple H, Cena, Edge, Orton as the only top guys, and we still have a Batista return to look forward to.
Apart from the lack of meaningful pushes for young guys, the main problem is that with the exception of Orton, the WWE's top stars are all incredibly stale. This is partly to be expected considering that they have been at the top for a long time (a ridiculously long time in Triple H's case) but it is also down to WWE's reluctance to change them. When was the last time we saw a huge heel turn? Matt Hardy doesn't count as he wasn't a main eventer.
Last year saw CM Punk and Jeff Hardy hold World Title gold, but still fail to break into the main event scene. That sort of thing shouldn't happen. It kills their momentum but also makes the World Title look like a joke. MITB is what should be used to elevate guys, but it has really failed at that these past couple of years, although admittedly Kennedy's injury didn't help in 2007.
In 2009, hopefully at least a couple of these guys will become full-time main eventers: CM Punk, John Morrison, MVP, Mr Kennedy, Christian. I predict one of them will make something of a breakthrough, but I'm not sure who. Maybe MVP.

At the end of the day, Wrestlemania is about buyrates rather than quality, so whilest people will bitch and moan about it, sticking something like Punk/Jericho as your main event won't draw half as much as the current main event cycle.

Although that's true, someone like Hardy or maybe if booked right Punk/MVP could draw. Jeff is in a solid feud outside of it, so that's fine, and Punk/MVP weren't booked to look like top Mania main eventers yet anyway, but I think next year at least one of those three will be in one of the main events for Mania. If not THE main event.

The Buyrates are a huge deal yeah, but what is Vince gonna do in 3-4 years down the road when Triple H, UT, HBK, etc. are all gone and there's no one left but these mid card guys that were never pushed and never got put over by the guys listed above? All im sayin is that they need to really start making new stars now so that down the road there isn't a bigger problem then now because none of these guys were ever pushed right and the fans won't accept them as on the same level as the guys before them. I realize that there are exceptions, like Orton...but thats about it. They have these belts called the U.S. and IC Championship but they might aswell not because they sure as hell don't use these titles to build guys either, then u have the money in the bank which is an exciting match and was great the first few years but it's not going to be taken seriously when the point of the match is to bring someone up into main event status and that doesn't happen, or does happen for a short period and then just forgotten about like in CM Punk's case. In my opinion i wouldn't mind seeing them lose the MITB match and start focusing back on the IC/US Title feuds. They have all that time on RAW to bullshit and show stupid ass facts about how WWE is no. 1 in cable ratings every damn 10 minutes, why couldn't they use that time they waste on that during a show and promote and showcase the IC/US Title Feud's? That's another point i want to make, Did they forget that the show is 2 fn' hours? Does the whole damn focus have to be on the World Title's? I mean how do they think they are going to build anyone up if they just take a mid=carder and put him in a #1 contender ladder match for the world championship, i mean it's a cool once in a while thing but doesn't make the guy look like a stronger contender for the World Championships if he has held mid card titles and worked his way up and not just got lucky in one 8 man ladder match? idk, that's just my opinion. Also on the making new stars and having more guys in the main events, maybe vince could do this if every damn time he got some talent from TNA he didn't burrie them and only push new guys that are are atleast 6'5 and 260lbs that suck, like kozlov for instance but won't drop it and realize that he sucks ass and give his push to someone else who deserves it.

Although I agree more people need to be pushed, they have John Cena, Randy Orton, Batista (granted he's getting older now), Edge, Jeff Hardy, etc. along with MVP/Punk on the horizon. Yeah, Kane, Rey, Shawn, UT, HHH, etc. don't look to have many years left, but surely most will last at least 3-4 more years and will continue to put over the younger talent in the midst of it all.
WWE are far from perfect in pushing new talent but with guys like Punk, MVP, Kennedy if he weren't so injury prone, the Hardys (not really new...), Morrison, Swagger, possibly Bourne though unlikely, etc. they have plenty of top mid carders/low main eventers who can step up in the future. It's the big stars leaving that led to HBK/Bret to get where they got, where Rock/Austin could go where they had to go, it led to Cena/Batista climbing the ranks. WWE may not be booking guys as huge credible threats currently but they easily have the talent to do so and if they lose many top talent any time soon, I can only assume they'll do what they've done many times before, pull through with even more top level guys.

On HHH: i dont see him in the future. i think that this might a good time for HHH to start to retire and move backstage.
On Batista: i dont think he'll have a very good career ahead..... hes "big", not for kids.
On Cena: I think WWE will use Cena for movies more than ring next year.
On Jericho: yeah, i dont see him in the main event but like the stand-out of the show.
On Undertaker, definately less ring time
on HBK: same
Probably WM 25 is their last match ( my gut feeling)
You know, i dont think Umaga will last very long in WWE either. i dont know though.
