Could this guy be a long term world champion and be successful or do we just want to see him win the big one finally (so the "Best to never..." tag can go to somebody else) and then move back to the mid card? I understand they dropped the ball with him in 2001. I understand he's been booked extremely poor. I understand he's VERY over with the live crowd. I understand, when given the opportunity he can still put on a great performance... So why is that I can't see it working?

Rep Power: 9 ![]() ![]() | I was exactly the same until I saw him in the ring with Cena brawling this week and suddenly he looked two inches taller and built a hell of a lot heavier. It was like a veil had come off and I could see this guy again for who he was. He's been booked superbly this year and I think a 2/3 month run with the belt will solidify that. I think he's got a natural fued to go into with Edge once he's defended a re-match with Cena and if that goes well a three match series could put them both really over. So to answer the question, yes I couls actually see him as a champ for more than a month, but it would hinge on his reception once he has the belt. |

I just look at his hair and tights and think "cheesy 80's metal bandmember" I really like him though and he would be good as a heel champ with Heyman as a manager.

However, not yet, but in time RVD (with Heyman, with someone else, maybe grow a pair and do it himself) should be a heel. It would be wacky/fantastic to have RVD come out in a suit once he's the Champ. Have him turn on the crowd, turn on ECW even and their whole style of wrestling. My only problem (thinking ahead there) is who then takes up the ECW mantle against him since that is where they make money in that. Sabu? Too short term surely. Foley? Already turned heel. Tazz? Won't do it. Sandman? Haha, well it would be fun!! No I guess it's a good idea but I can't see how I'd pan it out longer term.

Rep Power: 9 ![]() ![]() | I'm happy with this incarnation of RVD. Since last year's ONS his promo's have been a touch edgier and he seems to be trying a few different things in the ring rather than his matches before he got injured which could be timed by Seiko. Leave him be because I think he'd have better opponents as he is now than turning him and him having no-one to face. |

I know it has been done before but WWE are always doing old storylines again so i wouldn't put it past them.
