Tag Teams - Venting with frustration!

WTF WWE? I just don't get it any more. Why do you even bother? What am I so pissed off about this time?

The fact that WWE only ever form Tag-Teams with a view to breaking them up and getting 2 PPV matchs from the resulting split.

It used to be a monumental occasion when a tag-team split. The barber-shop window meant something. Do I care MNM have split up now? Do I hell, I had no emotional feeling that these guys had been on the road together for their entire careers. I have no feeling of loss from the tag division either because there is'nt one. I just wish WWE would stick with these teams instead of hot-shoting the obvious split matches and then assuming that they are bona fide stars as singles wrestlers. La' Resistance is an absolute stone cold case for the prosecution. Not just 2 excellent wrestler's disappeared into mediocrity but 3. Look at WGTT, these guys had a good 3/4 more years left entertaining before they had to move them apart. Even that Red-Neck AMW rip-off on Raw. Why not have a maturing Tag-Division? The last time it was great was whilst E&C had been in there for 3/4 years so had the Hardyz, so had 2 cool, and the Dudley's had come over with oodles of momentum. A tag fued did'nt have to focus on the belts either, Remember Dudley's Vs. Holly's over the Romeo Spike and Juliet Molly. Why can't we see Tag matches by Tag Teams rather than having to sacrifice a good Tag Team continuity because week on week the entire Main Event has to be in some mixed Tag or Vince has to get his On-Air jollies again?

Fuck me WWE just leave these teams to mature and learn their trade instead of burning their chances because you can't structure a show correctly.

Rant Over.

I had a sig, once.

The rant was warranted.

About two or three years back Vince made a conscious decision that he was no longer interested at all in Tag Team wrestling. Not a bit. Oh sure, he still liked the angle where you put two guys together who are an "odd couple" like Kane & RVD or Booker & Goldust.....squeeze a few weeks of comedy out of it, and presto, turn them on each (granted didn't happen for Booker & Goldust) but actually "building" a team and giving them some momentum or even a storyline, he's obviously not bothered with that.

Vince (tries anyway) to do what's good for business, and he obviously doesn't feel that tag teams are good for business. If you're in OVW and Vince and creative tell you they want to call you up as a member of a tag team.....turn it down. Look at Danny Basham, Doug Basham, Rob Conway, Rene Dupree, Sylvain Grenier, Lance Cade, Trevor Murdoch, Charlie Haas....some of these guys have served their dues and are talented wrestlers. Had they been put into decent tag teams and allowed to grow with them, they would have a future. Right now, they're all dead in the water and their careers have been flushed away. In some cases, believe it or not, they are multiple tag team champs!! I miss when being able to say that meant something.

The biggest indictment of the tag team division at the moment (I think) is that Vince considers it on a level now with the Cruiser division.

The tag division fell apart when they split brands. Plain and simple. Not enough wrestlers to justify tag teams.

I am not saying it was correct, but that has to be what they were thinking.

Vince went through a phase after the Rock and Austin got hurt where he was looking for his next diamond in the rough, but you see, those diamonds always surface on their own. You can't go digging for them.

I have stated so many times before that many of todays and yesterdays "best" wrestlers are former stablemates or tag partners in a sucessful tag team.

I also have read reports that the Smackdown roster was sick and tired of Melina and Nitro's backstage behavior. Apparently they are always together and do lots of PDA backstage annoying alot of the wrestlers. So now Mercury, not wanting the heat that Melina and Nitro are feeling looked to distance himself from them.

I really see Nitro and Melina ending up on Raw tonight. Melina is a great addition to the womens roster and Nitro can jump right into the IC race.

DD's Favorite of All Times

I finally played live and it was fantastic.

WWE's tag division is a joke.

But I agreed with the split up of MNM.....they were god awful.

I'm a good old rebel,
Now thats just what I am,
And for this Yankee nation,
I do not give a damn.
I'm glad we fought against her,
I only wish we'd won.
I ain't asking any pardon for anything we've done.
