Judgment Day - Could have been worse

I thought the PPV was much better than expected and had some very solid matches, here's a quick review

MNM Vs Paul London & Brian Kendrick Very good opener, move of the night came from London which was a dropkick to the guy on the apron turning into a standing monsault, nice to see new champs but I dont see many opponents for them, Melina blames Mercury for the defeat which ends up with the team splitting with Melina and Nitro attacking Mercury

Chris Benoit Vs Finlay Good technical match but it went on for about 10 minuitestoo long, Benoit made Finlay tap out to the crossface

Melina Vs Jillian Hall Did exactly what it said on the tin, Jillian got the win despite Melina grabbing the rope which forced Melina to whine to Teddy Long and also slap him which resulted in her's d Nitro's sacking

Gregory Helms Vs Super Crazy Good match but I would have liked to have seen it given longer and more high flying moves, Helms got the cheap win with feet on the ropes

Mark Henry vs Kurt Angle Possibly Mark henrys greatest ever match and also one of Kurt's worse, Mark got a countout win, but Kurt went ballistic after the match and destroyed Henry

Booker T Vs Lashley Good solid match and was wis eto be kept short, Booker got the cheap win after Finlay interfeared but then tasted a spear through the throne

The Undertaker vs Great KhaliYawn, shock win for Khali, dull match

JBL Vs Rey Mysterio Entertaining match, Rey was busted open in this one, JBL got some cheap heat by mimicking Eddie, Rey got the win after a 619 and then a frog spalsh, Chavo congratulated Rey as the show went of the air

Overall I give it a suprising :up: :up: :up: out of :up: :up: :up: :up: :up:

Good review Crock.. I'm not sure where SD! is headed from any of this but the PPV was at least not the worst of all time like I thought when I saw the final card.

Great Khali vs The Undertaker (Gimick match)

Mark Henry vs Batista (Henry injured Dave)

Randy Orton vs Kurt Angle (Kurt injured Orton in the storyline)

Finlay vs Lashley

Benoit vs JBL (couldnt think of anything else for them)

and another match or 2

Yeah, that's possible.. It wouldn't be a horrible card if that's what it ends up being like. Batista and Orton back would be huge.

I see Booker /Batista at Summerslam based on what happened the other week, and I would like to see a long feud with Kurt/Orton the pair of them could have some classic matches

Yes, I think Booker will beat Rey at the Bash and I'd be happy.. Booker would be a decent champ at this point on SD!

I thought the PPV was decent. There was nothing special about it and was pretty lackluster. I was hoping to see Chavo turn on Rey though and then have JBL win the belt but it didnt happen. The match was decent though seeing JBL was in it. The Khali/Undertaker was pathetic at how bad it was. There was nothing good at all about it and I can't believe 'Taker would take a loss like that to him. I don't see the point in breaking up MNM seeing as now there are pretty much no tag teams left but as seen recently WWE seems to love breaking up teams. Finlay costing Lashley was good in that it continues there feud and Lashley is too green still I think to give him that type of push right now by having him win like that. Plus by the push Booker seems to be getting its going to give Smackdown! another main eventer to their roster since there is really no contenders on the roster for hte belt. Angle/ Henry was good and the best part was when Henry fell and broke the table it looked so ridiculous. I agree with Crocker on the Finlay/Benoit match, it was way too long IMO. They should have ended it around the 12 minute mark or so, cuz after that point it just got extremely boring and I could hardly pay attention to it at all. Helms/Super Crazy was good for what it was. Not too many spots like you would expect though from a crusierweight match.

Obscure relevance I know but hear me out. Ric Flair had just defended (against Steamboat) when Funk congratulated him. Funk then asked for a title shot but Flai said that because he had been in-active other people were above him. Funk said he was only kidding about asking for the shot. Funk thought that meant Flair thought he was unworthy of a title shot, went nuts and pile-drove him thru a table setting up the classic "I Quit" match.

Doesn't take too much to transfer that storyline onto this one and would give us a believable bout which would be an absolute classic if left to it's own devices.

The Undertaker Khali match was the WORST WORST WORST "wrestling" match I have ever fucking seen in my entire life.

Undertaker should be fuming after having to job to that fucking oaf. Think of all the people that Taker has beaten over the years. Even when Undertaker loses its usually some fucked up ass backwards cheating thing or he has to take like 4 finishers from a couple different guys.

Now this big turd comes along, plunks Taker on the top of the head like a pickle jar and gets a CLEAN PIN?!?!?!?!

Honestly, not only does it make Undertaker look stupid, but all the people that Taker beat in the past.

My lord, I really think this was the stupidest thing they have pulled in years.


As far as the rest of the PPV is concerned. I enjoyed most of it simply because its wrestling, but I saw very little to seperate this from any other Smackdown episode. Sure there was the "King of the Ring" match but honestly, this certainly didnt have a KOTR feel to it.

I honestly thought the brightest part of the show was MNM, and now they are breaking them up. haha. Perfect.

I'm incredibly pissed off as the rumor i had heard didn't happen.

Surely it would of been a huge swerve if Kane had shown up and been placed in the main event at the request of Mcmahon because of his actions Friday, but no, the bookers have the writing ability of a cbeebies writer and couldn't pull a decent storyline if it was hand written, typed in red and presented to them by Vince himself.


I'm getting a bit bored of how they are letting Smackdown sink without a trace by missing on perfect opportunities to bring faces from Raw to bulk up the roster.


And another thing, proof WWE is killing the tag division by splitting MNM up and sacking Melina from Smackdown.
I'm sure they will both show up on Raw soon enough.


Overall, didn't sound too bad from what i've heard except from a few moments.
