Rep Power: 3 ![]() | Independent Wrestling Update News from NECW: NECW & PWF Mayhem to Merge; WWW Premiere Huge news coming out of Sunday's premiere of World Women's Wrestling, which was a huge success. The big news revealed at the pre-show press conference: NECW & PWF Mayhem Announce Merger New England Championship Wrestling and PWF Mayhem announced that they will be merging together as one company. The announcement was made at a press conference prior to yesterday’s World Women’s Wrestling premiere. NECW President, Sheldon Goldberg and “Mad Dog†Matt Storm of PWF Mayhem outlined the plans to fans and staff of both promotions who were in attendance. “This merger will create a combined organization that will bring a new standard of excellence to professional wrestling throughout the region,†said Goldberg. Storm said that he believed the unified company will be a looked at as a “super promotion.†Goldberg added, “This is not just a business deal. This is an unselfish act on the part of two respected entities to join forces in order to improve the entire industry.†The unified company will operate under the name New England Championship Wrestling, with a new logo to be introduced soon. World Women’s Wrestling will continue to operate under that name as a subsidiary of New England Championship Wrestling. An expanded schedule of live events will be phased in over the next two months, with the Framingham Civic League in Framingham, MA, the National Guard Armory in Quincy, MA and the Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Merrimac Valley in Salisbury, MA being the monthly venues for NECW events. The World Women’s Wrestling events will be based at Good Time Emporium. Goldberg outlined plans for the championships of each organization. The titles will remain separate for a period of 120 days. Challengers and challenges to each title will be satisfied within that period. In August, at the 6th annual BIRTHDAY BASH, all championships will be unified. In order to commemorate and perpetuate the histories of the NECW, PWF and Mayhem championships, the unified heavyweight title will be renamed the Triple Crown. “The real winners in this are the fans,†says Goldberg. “This is going to usher in a new era of excitement for independent wrestling in the region.†______________________________________ Nikki Roxx Wins NECW Women's Champiosnhip at a Hugely Successful WWW Premiere It was a major victory for women's wrestling as New England Championship Wrestling presented the world premiere of it's new women's promotion, World Women's Wrestling (Triple W for short) in front of a near capacity crowd at Good Time Emporium in Somerville, MA. It was the largest crowd for an NECW promoted event at Good Time Emporium in more than two years. Alexa Thatcher, managed by Missy Samson, defeated Synndy after Missy, behind the refs back, knocked Synndy out. PWF Mayhem star, "Bad Boy" Billy Black came to ring to apologize to Amber for accidentally costing her a recent match in PWF Mayhem and said he was there to support her. Amber then did battle with Alicia in a very competitive match that saw Alicia get the victory after Black tried to interfere and it backfired. "Pryme Time" Amy Lee defeated Jana by submission, but refused to release the hold until numerous officials forced her to do so. Due to the announced merger between NECW & PWF Mayhem, Ariel's match against Cindy Rogers was a PWF Mayhem Women's Championship Match. Ariel retained her title in an outstanding battle between two top stars. The Diva Killaz (Ms. DeVille & Kayla Sparks) defeated the team of Missy Samson & Alexa Thatcher when DeVille hit a senton on Thatcher for the three count. Missy was so mad about the loss and had a post match altercation with Thatcher. Della Morte defeated Kacee Carlisle, as the gothic grappler dominated the action in this special challenge match. In the main event, Nikki Roxx became the new NECW Women's Champion in a triple threat elimination match over Mercedes Martinez and defending champion, Violet Flame. Mercedes eliminated Violet and then Roxx and Martinez went to town on each other in a tremendous back and forth battle which saw Nikki get the hard-fought victory. After the match, Amy Lee and Missy Samson attacked Roxx in mid-celebration, bringing a table into the ring to use on the new champion. Ariel rushed to Nikki's aid, chasing Lee and Samson from the ring. Then, Ariel proceeded to attack the weakened Roxx and powerbombed her TWICE onto the table, leaving the new champion laying. A Dysfunctional DWOW Danbury World Title Match The Blue Meanie (former E.C.W. / W.W.E. star) issues a challenge to any ho or ho……..mo in Danbury! -It has been an emotional rollercoaster ride for The Blue Meanie as he captured his first Championship in some time. However, it is The Dangerous Women of Wrestling Women’s World Title. Blue has been welcomed by most of the girls in the locker room, but there are a few women (and men) that think his title reign has tarnished the title and plan to do something about it. ----- DWOW Tag Team Titles Match “Bar Tab vs. Food Tab†(winner gets the gold and either their Bar Tab or Food Tab will be picked up by the losers!) The Maez vs. Cristol & Jana -The Maez have been riding high since brining home the prestigious gold to the farm. From parties galore with drinking and eating the Maez have run up an expensive bill. Someone has to pay and The Maez want nothing to do with all the bills. Cristol on the other hand is on a mission and would like nothing more than grab some gold and get some free drinks. This was supposed to be a rematch from New Year’s Rezzho-lution, but Liz Savage seems to have attracted the attention of Missy Samsonite as she has been called out for a “Danbury Street Fightâ€. Jana, a longtime friend of Cristol has been called on to help out her friend. ----- A Wrestling Match Ariel vs. Candie w/Tara as special guest referee -After the announcement of Nikki Roxx being removed from this event due to a car accident last week, the energetic Ariel stepped up to fill the spot on the card. Ariel understands what she is up against as Candie and Tara have become pretty close friends. Ariel will have her hands full with Candie in the ring, as well as watching her own back to make sure Tara doesn’t do anything to jeopardize a win in this match. Rest assured that Candie will be plotting something to make sure she captures the win against Ariel. ----- Danbury Hardcore Match Missy Samonsite vs. Liz Savage -Liz Savage had dreams of capturing gold with Cristol on her debut night at New Year’s Rezzho-lution, but The Maez did not let those dreams come true. Missy Samsonite on the other hand feels snubbed by DWOW as she was not scheduled in a match as promised. Missy claims that even though she is not your typical eye candy wrestler, she deserves a spot like any other woman. Missy interrupted a match between Lacey and Ranmaru at New Year’s Rezzho-lution and claimed she was in DWOW to leave her permanent mark. Missy has real-life dislike for Liz and feels Liz has not paid her dues in wrestling and is looking to make an example of Liz Savage. Also on the card… The recently injured Angel Orsini has made a statement saying that no matter what she would be at REVHOLUTION! Angel and Sumie Sakai ripped the house down at DWOW’s New Year’s Rezzho-lution as Angel broke her one heel and shattered the other with a 18 foot table jump. Many close to the situation are wondering if Orsini’s doctors will allow her to make the almost three hour commute in fears of complications of her surgery. Two not-so-favorites are also scheduled to be in attendance in Commissioner Smoke and The Sound Guy. Neither have been heard from or seen since the last event when The Blue Meanie beat their counterpart Amy Lee. What are they planning and what is up their sleeves? Look for another new piece of talent to make her debut in some capacity as Taylor will enter the dysfunctional world of DWOW! All this and more at REVHOLUTION!
