WWE released four Superstars from the main roster this wee along with four Referees and two development talents. What is now seemingly an annual occurrence saw D’Lo Brown, Bam Neeley, Kevin Thorn and Val Venis join the unemployment line. Mike Posey, Kevin Keenan, Jimmy Korderas & Tim White represented the referees while Shawn Spears and Mike Kruel were the development talents.
Other News: Christian Cage gone from TNA
What we have all suspected for the past several weeks seems to now be official. Christian Cage’s profile was removed from the roster page on the TNA website. This usually means they aren’t coming back anytime soon.
Steve Austin into the WWE Hall of Fame
Apparently. An image was displayed on the wwe.com main page pretty much confirming what everyone already thought. The image was quickly removed and believed to be the work of a disgruntled ex-employee who was let go during the Spring Cleanout.
Christy Hemme Injured
Just days before the biggest match of her career against Awesome Kong at Genesis for the TNA Knockouts Championship, TNA inform us that Hemme suffered a neck injury while training with AJ Styles. TNA have maintained that the injury is legitimate and not a work. Jim Cornette will name a replacement at Genesis.
Jay Lethal cashes in his Feast or Fired Case
On iMPACT! (January 8<SUP>th</SUP>) Jay Lethal cashed in his TNA World Tag Team Title Match. Teaming with Consequences Creed he would go on to capture his first Tag Team title in TNA and Creed’s first title in TNA. It happened after Matt Morgan vs. Robert Roode was stopped due to Roode injuring his knee. James Storm wrestled the majority of the match alone in Jeans and Cowboy boots while Roode sold the injury the entire time. The Tag Title match at Genesis has been changed to a three way.
Low-Ki joins WWE
According to PWInsider.com the former TNA X-Division Champion and ROH World Champion has gotten himself a contract with WWE. Low-Ki had a dark match back in November but nothing came of it until now. Low-Ki was at the time still under contract to NJPW.
WWE Superstars making a return to TV
The former minor show has made its return this time to Thursday Night. Airing one hour before TNA iMPACT! The one hour show is expected to be a cross brand version of Velocity featuring the lower card wrestlers who cant make it onto Raw or Smackdown on a regular basis.
