I reckon this is Vince's long term plan, for 25-30 years he's been working to destroy any purism in pro wrestling and make kayfabe abundant. I bet his dads & other promoters going back 90 years who helped to make wrestling the athletic spectacle that it is are spinning in their graves.
He's like the Simon Cowell of wrestling, it's all about capitalism/consumerism/commercialism, real wrestling/music dosen't matter as long as they're multi millionaires and world famous.
When I read this I got a picture in my head of when I was a kid.
“You boys quit wrestling in the living-room. If you want to pretend you're wrestlers go in the backyard!”

It just doesn’t have the same ring to it out of my mom’s mouth or Jerry Lawler’s.
Changing what an announcer call the in-ring talent will not change anything in the commissions mind. You can put rabbitt ear on a dog, and it still is a dog.
I have no problem with it.... since that is what they are!
I don't see the point of calling the wrestlers; "entertainers" on screen, they should still stick to the "superstar" name for that, but I have no problem with them referring to the wrestlers as "WWE Entertainers" in the mass media.
It's time to move with the times... this isn't the dark old days of kayfabe, they should embrace the fact that they are an entertainment company, and not a sports company.
I agree with they should stick to "superstars", but you have to look at this first before you say its not a sports company. They have to train like it is a sport bc you cant take hits or falls like that everyday and not be trained. I see this as a sport even though they act, but the compete more every year than any other athlete which is what they are b/c its like basketball, baseball, football, ect you have to be great to get in to it. Not just at acting which some of them are not, but also at the wrestling aspect. Now they call actors who do martial art movies, martial artists, but having a 18 year background of muay thai, akido, and kempo it is hard to do every day of every year. You become bruised and battered. Not just anyone can do it and do it well. I am no-where near what jett li, jackie chan, or tony jaa is but i train. They are the best and are deserving to be called that. The "wrestlers" in the wwe are athletes and should be looked upon as such!
Whatever they can do to take out wrestling in general, I guess.
I don't understand why they are concentrated on this so much. First it was superstars, the ring warriors, now this.
