Joe/Nash Future Plans, Russo's Creative Idea, Jarrett Update, More

TNA plans on doing a Samoa Joe vs. Kevin Nash world title program later in the year. However, it won't happen right away as it's going to get a slow build. Also, Vince Russo wrote an interesting little one-liner for a recent Joe/Nash training segment that didn't make the air due to an apparent sound problem. Nash said to Joe, "Hey Joe, show me how you get out of that sleeper."

Jeff Jarrett, who recently turned 41, is not retired and still looking to return to the ring. He's simply waiting for the right time to return. However, Jarrett only wants to return if he can make a major impact and be in a title program. Unlike WWE, TNA has long-term plans on major storylines as they often plant seeds for future feuds while current ones are ongoing. For much of the latter half of 2007, TNA knew they were building towards a Samoa Joe title win over Kurt Angle, and there was no point in Jeff Jarrett getting involved in a title feud until Joe vs. Angle came to a conclusion. Jarrett last appeared in a TNA ring one year ago tomorrow when he lost to Robert Roode at last year's Sacrifice pay-per-view.

Petey Williams, who fractured his orbital bone during a match that aired on last week's Impact, will not be stripped of his X Division title. The injuries were not significant enough to put him out action for a long time. Although, it is not known yet as to when he'll be cleared to wrestled again, but it shouldn't be too long.
Good to see Petey not being out too long, he is a good wrestler and is just getting a rather good push. Kevin Nash vs. Joe seems to be looking a rather tiresome and boring match, why would they have Joe be harmed by a 45 year old who can't wrestle anymore?

WWE.com has an article up noting that during Rey Mysterio's current media tour of China, a 7.8 earthquake devastated the nation’s southwestern Sichuan province today killing more than 8,500 people. Mysterio was at a media event in Xian, China when the earthquake hit. He was unharmed, evacuated and brought back to his hotel where he was put on the first floor for safety reasons. Mysterio currently can't leave the country as all flights have been grounded and it is likely the media tour will be cut short.

Former Velocity announcer Josh Mathews, who is still employed but hasn't appeared on a SmackDown broadcast in over two years, is now hosting a webshow on WWE.com talking about the top five movers and shakers in WWE. Among those profiled on this week's show are Colin Delaney, Beth Phoenix and Batista.
Has anyone sen this show is it any good? Sad to see Mysterio's flight grounded doubtful he will wrestle on Smackdown! rhis week or next .

I'll believe Jarrett over some idiots newletter. Jarrett wants a face run to put some heels into the main event or near enough. Hence his feud with Roode before his wife died.

What the fuck is this? The Wrestling Observer can fuck themselves.. I'm tired of hearing from those assholes who think they know something about the business whilst never being involved with it.

Jarrett is a solid wrestler who can put on a good match, but isn't great. He's more suited to the upper midacrd. He's never drawn signifcantly and in the earlier days of TNA, put himself over far too much. I don't know about his backstage work so i won't comment...but in the ring he's solid

Re: Joe/Nash Future Plans, Russo's Creative Idea, Jarrett Update, More

Jarrett is a solid performer all round. He had some great matches and promos in the early days of TNA. His program with AJ Styles was awesome.

I don't think he put himself over *too much* in those early days.
He set himself up as a major main eventer, then put over the new TNA talent.

Hopefully, the mention of Jarrett this week in Sting's interview is a hint at a return. I'd LOVE to see him make a shock return at Slammiversary in the King Of The Mountain match. The problem is, with the Joe/Nash angle on the horizon, there's not much point in having Jarrett win at Slammiversary - and a returning loss never does anyone any good!

None of us are going to agree on what Jarrett was doing in his booking of himself as Champion, however, his return could be good.

Especially if he aligns himself into feuds with Roode and Storm. He could really help those guys.

He doesnt have to wrestle. He could come in & smash Roode with the guitar as he is climbing the ladder with the belt.

Man, Kevin Nash is about 70 years old he needs to fucking check his ass in to Ric Flair's retirement home. Get all of the old ass past their prime wrestlers in there, Nash can fuck around and play ping pong with the Honky Tonk Man.
