- Hart said he had known Benoit since he was 10, 11, or 12 years old. They discovered him at wrestling events, wanting to meet his hero - The Dynamite Kid. Hart said Benoit started training at age 16 or 17.
- Hart said Benoit was a leader in the locker room. “No one expected this coming from Chris Benoit,” said Hart. “It’s a shock to everybody.”
- Hart said the Benoit family is hanging in there. Bret has spoken to Chris’s sister and one of his children from a previous relationship.
- Hart said he had never seen Benoit use steroids, but assumes he has used steroids in his career.
- When asked about Benoit’s seven year old son, Hart said he never knew of anything that was wrong with Daniel. Bret said Daniel may have been a little small, but so was Benoit.
