Shawn Michaels recently signed a five-year contract at $1.5 million per year with WWE. He will make at least $7.5 million throughout the duration of the contract - not including merchandise royalties, PPV bonuses, etc... The contract will expire when he is 46 years old.
This contract offer shocked a lot of people, including HBK himself. He never expected to get an offer close to this level. Michaels had talked about phasing himself out and working a lesser schedule, but with this kind of money offered to him, he changed his mind.
personally i would have hoped hbk sign a super long term deal kinda like bret hart was suppose to do, like a deal that would eventually make him a manager or a talent scout or something make sure they keep him backstage for a super long time obviously with some money cut though
I sortof presumed HBK would have signed a long-term contract that phased him out to becoming a trainer/road agent, probably not for as much money as was offered here. Perhaps that is the idea behind this contract though, to lessen his work-load over the next couple of years and WWE can still keep him backstage et all.
Though I'm doubting that with the fact it's such a high offer...Seems they have plans to keep him at it for the next five years anyway.
Well, you know, if anyone deserves it, it's Shawn, he is a magnificent worker, and I believe he has one more run in him...

I'm sure after his contract is up he will still be with the WWE doing something with the company. I don't think he will ever leave the WWE. He's been with the company for a very long time and I don't see himleaveing it.
yeah. He'll be down to a janitor before leaving I think. Cuz when you work with that kinda business. You just wanna be as close to the bright lights as you can. I know because I am looking for it to be my future career.
