On Friday, TNA announced on their website that Chris Harris was no long a member of the TNA Wrestling roster and later removed the statement.
This doesn’t mean that Chris Harris and TNA has come to an agreement as Chris Harris recently turned down TNA’s latest contract offer because he was unhappy with the offer and opted to let his current deal expire instead.
TNA sources hinted that Chris Harris has been unhappy with TNA as of late and it was obvious that he will no longer be working with TNA. Chris Harris had a good bye dinner with the TNA stars after the TNA Impact television taping this past Tuesday in Orlando, FL.
Chris Harris was one of the original talents which TNA signed when they formed in 2002. He was part of America's Most Wanted, which was one of TNA’s first marquee tag team and held the TNA Tag-Team Championship for a total of seven times.
So it was Chris Harris' 'last supper' with TNA?
If you were on a bus full of gay guys would you get off?
I heard from Bryan Alvarez's radio show on F4wonline.com that Harris tried to pull what Chris Abyss did a couple of years ago, whereby he was in contract negotiations, advised them of WWE's interest and then got an improved offer.
Harris is playing a dangerous game as, allegedly, whilst WWE were interested some time back, they haven't expressed any recent interest in him. Looks like he's playing off their old interest to get an improved contact offer and TNA just don't consider him to be that valuable so are happy to just let him go.
Expect to see Chris Harris on your local independent wrestling card at your local bowling alley soon!
"Chris Harris was released from TNA. This is a very interesting story. The rumors floating around were that WWE was very interesting in him. However, I'm told that WWE had discussed it a few times but that was about it. The feeling from a few people was that this was very similar to the Abyss deal a few years back where the rumor was that there was strong interest from WWE (which there wasn't), and he ended up getting a slightly better deal out of it to re-sign. Harris had legit been complaining about a lot of different things, and this may have been a situation where TNA called his bluff and axed him. If WWE decides not to bring him in he'll have really screwed himself over here. He is the kind of guy they like though, tall with a good body (actually, his physique has declined quite a bit of late), so he may get hired.
There are also rumblings that James Storm wants out, so WWE could reform their America's Most Wanted tag team. Problem is, WWE hates using ideas that other people came up with, plus they don't give a shit about tag teams for the most part these days. There is also the problem that by the end, Storm and Harris REALLY did not like each other. In fact, the story is that Harris begged and begged for them to break up AMW so he could go out on his own, and then within a matter of weeks he was asking Storm if he wanted to put the team back together again and Storm told him no"
lol.. Good call for Storm. Harris would have just held him back. Sure they were a great team but sooner or later you gotta taste that singles water baby!
