Stephanie McMahon's Hiatus Gives Paul Heyman More Power

What with Stephanie McMahon being out of the picture due to the birth of her child, Paul Heyman had free reign as far as scripting is concerned. Last week's ECW show was largely put together by Heyman, although the undercard matches not shown on television didn't come from him (i.e. Kendrick and London being put over The Full Blooded Italians).

Also, Heyman is expected to gain some power over the ECW house shows. Considering that the ECW show on Sci-Fi performs well in the ratings, house show business has been considered to be a flop. Attendance figures thus far have been disappointing. One change Heyman has been pushing for is for the house shows to be longer than two hours.

Heyman is also pushing for some changes in ECW creative. He wants Tommy Dreamer to be a part of the ECW creative team. Vince McMahon is considering it.

Despite reports to the contrary, Jamie Noble was not suspended. He was taken off television because they are going to reform the Pitbulls tag team in a few weeks when Kid Kash returns from his 30-day suspension. There was no role for him without Kash, and thus he was taken off the road.

OVW ran a show on 7/27 at Providence High School near Louisville. Nick "Eugene" Dinsmore graduated from the school, not to mention that he once worked there as a substitute teacher. In the past, they'd advertise that Nick Dinsmore was returning to the school to wrestle, and it would usually draw several hundred people. This year, they advertised "Eugene Nick Dinsmore" to wrestle on the annual show. However, Johnny Ace found out about this and he told OVW to not refer to him as either Nick or Dinsmore, let alone Nick Dinsmore. He told them to advertise him as Eugene, and leave it at that. As it turns out, the show only drew 200 people. Eugene defeated Rob Conway in the main event.

Although she doesn't have an extensive wrestling background, Candice Michelle has been working in the ring prior to shows in an effort to improve as a wrestler. Also, Candice has shown a willingness to learn.

I guess from the sound of your first post, ECW still has some outside hope of improving. Dreamer joining ECW Creative would be a start I think and Stephanie giving birth has given some good to ECW, as well, with Heyman being given more control...
