- SmackDown head writer Michael Hayes is being considered for the open SmackDown announcing position alongside Michael Cole. Hayes as done some announcing work in the past for various promotions. Because Hayes is the head writer on SmackDown, it may be hard for him to handle both jobs and that could play a factor in him not getting the job. WWE TV producer Kevin Dunn has a very short list of people that he feels did well in the recent tryouts and a decision is expected to be finalized by Vince McMahon today or tomorrow.
- I posted a few weeks back about WWE Diva Maryse Ouellet appearing in the Playboy Special Edition Lingerie December 2007-January 2008 issue. Now Maryse has posted confirmation on her MySpace blog, noting that it is her 12th appearance in Playboy's magazines.
- Gerweck reports that The Kentucky Boxing and Wrestling Authority suspended and/or fined 20 individuals on Tuesday. Most were workers who were at an unlicensed show. One independent worker, Tony Corral, received a one-year suspension and a $250 fine for trying to subvert a drug test by bringing in a urine sample in a condom.
