-- WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is said to have reached out to Hulk Hogan to get him to come to Monday’s 15th Anniversary show for RAW. Obviously, the show has been pumped full of talent to try and draw a very high rating. As we have been reporting, there are plans to try and get Hogan to work WrestleMania 24 next year. While chances are not that good it is said that Vince will at least ask Hogan and Steven Austin about a potential match at the big event. Austin is said to be the holdup on the match, as Hogan has already said he would do it in a heartbeat.

Re: Hogan vs. Austin At WM24?
Hogan sure would do it in a heartbeat. Provided he goes over clean that is.
There's money to be had, no doubt, and both Austin and Hogan are astute businessmen, but both men have their pride and I don't think their pride would allow them to take the fall here.
On the one hand Hogan should be amenable, since he's lost to Rock, Angle, Sting, Undertaker on PPV's before who are (with the exception of Rock) all lesser stars than Austin.
I think part of it though is "how" he would choose to lose and the politics he plays in being the focus and the hero even in defeat. He would not allow Austin just to stun him clean to defeat and take the plaudits from the crowd. And that would stick in Austin's jaw.
On the other hand Austin can be just as "gnarly" in this regard. Doubtless even if he agreed to defeat it would probably be with the stipulation that he get's robbed but gets the post match stunner on Hogan to leave looking the winner.
Both men play this whole political game of what the perception of the crowd is even in the eventuality that they lose and they both know that the other will be doing exactly the same so, from a writing standpoint, the match would be hell to get on with those egos.
You could say, well have one go other then a re-match with the loser getting his receipt. But the first match would be Mania and any other PPV victory would be a lesser win
Again you could say "have the rematch at the following Mania" but I don't think there is any trust in the other whereby they would believe this years winner would turn up the next year.
So, finally!! no....I can't see this happening. There's money in it for sure, but the politics and the egos mean that there could never be a 1 on 1 match "finish" that both men would agree with.

Man, this has always been my dream match (I'm sure along with a good few thousand others) and I was pumped while expecting it for last years Mania. But now, I dunno'
.. I won't get my hopes up.
But like really, Hogan was probably 90% of everyone's SPORTS hero when they were a kid, unless your like 80 now, but when he moved to wCw and 316 came into play, ST took over like it was no body's business.
If this were to happen say, when Hogan/Rock was going on (which was great, don't get me wrong) it would have been SOOO F'N huge for me!! But now, especially now that I'm older and I hear about all the politics and BS that goes on in the back, and a lot of it coming from my once upon a time hero (Hulk), I just wanna' see it and get it over with considering, as posted above, if it don't happen now, it won't, period.
Personally, who would I like to see win when/if it ever does happen? StoneCold. Why? As much as I loved Hulkster when I was a kid, and with all the great stuff he accomplished (Andre, all the titles, the ability to control ANY arena he was in, not to mention the shows/stardom he received(even now), and the fact that he had a major role in creating the nWo .. etc..), Stone Cold appeared in the 90's with this badass attitude, while I was aboout 6-8 at the time, he made me go bananas when he was in the ring either wrestling or shooting shit, or tellin' on Vinnie Mac. The man was on fire, and whatever Hogan did in the WWF, ST relived it X 1000 in the attitude era (IMO ofcourse).
While I did watch both the Fed, aand Cdub., I relied much more on RAW than Nitro, and I believe if Hogan/Austin were to put on a match in March, and Hogan talked his way into the win, much of my reasoning to watch WWF OVER wCw, aka Austin OVER Hogan, DX OVER nWo, Ministry OVER Ravens Flock, Coorporation OVER Young Blood, European title OVER Cruiserweights, ect .., than I wasted quality time watching TSN OVER TBS !!
But, well, thats just the way I see it ..

I will buy the PPV if Hogan vs. Austin is on there.
If it is not, I won't.
Enough said.
