Things I liked this week.....Things I didn't (w/e 8th Sept)

Things I liked

London & Kendrick's match with Worlds' Greatest Tag Team. Nice match up, the tease by Cade & Murdoch would have been pretty sweet too....were it not an identikit of their tease with The Hardy's a few months back. By god L&K looked teeny weeny up against C&M though!

I loved Santino's heeling in the Sandman entrance. Him actually doing commentary about the guy coming to the ring to kill him was golden.

Cena's beating on Regal and the whole Orton "segment". Good stuff.

Hardy's win of the IC belt. Not a belt I really thought Umaga needed to be honest, and the win kind of came out of the blue. It was good stuff.

Matt Hardy & MVP have a very unique style of feud going on. I've enjoyed all of it and hope creative have the patience to keep it going so well. V1 having to show his name on his tag belt to the "doorman" to gain entry was brilliant.

The build to the Rey/ Chavo match was excellent throughout the programme and the finish, with the irony of Chavo getting caught up this time was some nice booking.

My highlight of the week was the match with Punk and Morrison. It was probably the best of their efforts, but was made even more godly by the super hot crowd and the reactions to it.

Balls and Kelly remains a nice little story. However, I wish they'd not feature it every week since it's going to get old quick. The Angle/Hunter/Steph triangle was so fantastic because it was teased infrequently, not every week.

I had 2 weeks of Impact to catch up on. Styles comedy moment when Tomko was dragged into Joe's dressing room then, moments later, Joe opened the door again for AJ to say "is Tomko in there" before running off, was excellent. AJ is playing his heel role very finely!

The 4way between Sting, Cage, AJ & Joe was a very good TV match. Enjoyed that a lot.

Things I didn't

The main event of Raw being "talking". For 20 minutes plus. It was dreadful, boring and put me off completely an angle that I had already grown very tired of. The Kennedy tease made it suck a huge African member. Even the comedy segments in this were dire.

Triple H's killing of Umaga. They've spent a year building up this character and clearly decided some form of punishment for his internet drug bust was appropriate. But losing the IC title was enough. For Hunter to flat out kill the guy, whilst in a 2 on 1 handicap against him was a burial. It'll be hard for him to ever comeback from that with the fans. How this is supposed to enhance Hunter as a face.....basically crippling a guy with a hammer shot to the spine (same as done to HBK at Summerslam all those years ago) I don't know. To then stick him up on the screen as part of a bad comedy segment in the "talking" main event 10 minutes later indicated "we don't know what to do with Hunter....but we want you to think he's brutal, hard, uncaring, but a comedian...........it'll get real old, real quick!!

I'm sure the Daivari/Jillian "Grease" segment sounded good to creative on paper. My god it was terrible.

Khali/Finlay versus Batista/Kane. Very long match, very horrible. What somebody saw this last month or so and thought...."christ that was good, let's do it again". Oh and what happened to the well meaning tag team rules that were being enforced a couple of months back. You know...when matches were getting DQ'd all over the place for 4 guys in the ring. Guess we forget about that now!

Mark Henry was spooked. Who the fuck cares about this angle.

What was the point of the 3 week Stevie Richards push? To have him go back to being squashed. I don't get it!

Karen Angle is actually many times better than a 95% of WWE "divas". Really she is. She is already though, on a one hour show(!), after about two months so massively overexposed that I want her to fuck off now.

MCMG. One very hot tag team. So over with the fans. What did TNA do? Had Steiner come out and punk them to "go away", then put them out in a match where VKM squashed them to death in about 60 seconds. Then had all the "major" tag teams come out to face them in a brawl, of which one of the "teams" were Eric Young & Shark Boy? So Eric Young and Shark Boy couldn't have been fed to VKM and MCMG come out for the brawl? WTF? So MCMG are actually lower on the roster than Shark Boy's tag team. That's all kinds of messed up.

When AMW split, so many people thought Harris was the talent. He is not. He has zero charisma. Storm has massive amounts and, whilst not quite the in-ring performer that Harris is, that is just one part of the factor that puts guys into main events. Storm has "it", Harris just stares blankly into the camera!

Roode/Tomko/Kaz. My god that was some of the worst booking I've ever seen. Kaz has a match with Roode at the PPV. So logic says, since he has little momentum going into the PPV, that he wins Impacts opener. But instead they put him out there with Tomko. A heel. Who beats him. Then when Roode, another heel, gets in the ring after and berates Tracey....Tomko....who has nothing to do with this, and is a heel.....knocks over Roode. Jesus fucking christ, sack to death who ever wrote this shit. It made absolutely zero sense, took any interest and momentum in Kaz away and made Roode look like he should have more issues with Tomko than Kaz? Horrible on a whole new level.

Silly boy, the grease song was supposed to be awful. But I cracked up laughing during it. I did not expect that song genre and I certainly didn't expect little Daivari to sing along.

The 'main event' slot being filled w/ McMahon's talking took me back to years prior when I used to shut off the tv at quarter till. I must have lost my remote or something though, b/c for some reason I watched the whole stupid thing and it was too rushed on the Kennedy bit. They could've at least waited till next week to crush little Kennedy's dreams.

I agree. That was some great stuff to read. I felt like I was reading old school Jimmy Van right there.

I totally agree about the MVP and Hardy Segments. Those two alone make me want to watch Smackdown each week.

That was a great job covering all that stuff.

Repped my homeslice. This post did not suck a huge African member
