For those uninformed, former WCW World champion Diamond Dallas Page filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against hip hop superstar Jay Z, as well as several of the rappers companies which include, Roc-A-Wear clothing, Rocawear Licensing, Urban Menswear LLC, and Roc-A-Fella Records.
PWInsider are reporting that the two parties are close to reaching a settlement according to recent documents filed in the United States District Court of California, Central District.
The two sides agreed a settlement “in principle” last month on June 15th following a lengthy mediation and are expected to present the settlement to the court next month on August 10th. If the court signs off the case, the case will then be dismissed.
It is believed that within the lawsuit DDP has claimed his “Diamond Cutter” hand gesture had been infringed upon by Jay-Z in a number of Jay-Z's business activities.
I hate this so bad !! If DDP actually wins and disallows Z, and MAAAAAAAANY others to use the signal, imagine the cash flow the person who created to "peace sign" would have won !!

I agree with DDP on this. He came up with it so therefor he has every right to do this. All Jay Z had to do was change it a little but then again how many rappers change anything? They usually just copy straight up.

The guys a dick if he's gonna sue someone when his music is a CLEAR rip off of Nirvana's biggest hit. I'm sure he didn't create the "diamond" hand signal. It closely resembles the heart hand sign as well. I hope he loses the case, so he can go cry in a corner somewhere.

If I were Jay-Z I would sue DDP for being a jerkoff.
The sad thing is I liked DDP back in the WCW days, but I absolutely HATE when people sue for nothing more than a cheap buck.
See, I would understand if Steve Austin sued another wrestler who came to the ring with a black vest, jhorts and a bald head with a goat-tee named "Ice Cold Steve Houston" who opened a bottle of whoopass on people.
