As first revealed in the PWInsider.com Elite section, there is a lot of talk that Ric Flair, the 16 (or 21) time World Champion, is preparing to call it a career. Sources close to the situation have revealed that plans have been discussed for Flair to wrestle the final match of his 30-plus year career at Wrestlemania 24 on March 30, 2008 in Orlando, Florida. While WWE and Flair have yet to confirm this publicly, it is also believed that Flair will be inducted into the WWE Hall OF Fame that same weekend.
While there is no doubt that Ric Flair belongs in any professional wrestling Hall Of Fame (his continuing to work as a full-time wrestler is the only reason WWE hasn't inducted him in the past), an interesting question has been raised, which leads to today's poll question. In the history of the WWE Hall Of Fame, only once has WWE chosen to induct a single person. That was 1993, when the Hall Of Fame was created with the legendary Andre The Giant as the sole first inductee. Since then, WWE has always inducted groups of wrestlers into the Hall Of Fame. Not even Hulk Hogan was given the spotlight solely to himself when he was inducted into the Hall OF Fame.
Ric Flair could be the one instance where WWE chooses to break their unwritten rule. It has been suggested in the PWInsider.com Elite section that the entire Hall Of Fame ceremony could be devoted to Flair and his career, with a slew of presenters giving their thoughts and memories on Flair during the final weekend of his active career.
I've said this everytime I've heard anything related to Flair and retiring in the past three years .. he needs too, NOW !!
Yes, he's a legend, and yes, he can still get what needs to be done in the ring done .. but he's gonna' kill himself even before WM in April !!
On the HOF idea, I think it'd be cool,a nd completely deserving for Natch to go in by himself .. the only exception would be if somehow the Benoit case turned out completely different than it is now and he came off as innocent ..

Re: Flair to call it a day?
I would be very fine with all of that.
Flair in the ring, is understandably limited now, though god knows still many times better than a lot of the greenhorns on the roster.
I hope he stays on in a managerial role, though obviously if he did there would be temptation to book him (or try to book him) in matches down the line.
As for the HoF, yes if it needs to be based on just one guy then there is no more valid entrant, in my opinion.

I think he should win the title in his last match. Then he retires and vacates it the next nite on RAW. For wrestling this long he deserves to go out on top. It wouldent matter his oppenent as he would get cheered anyway. Seeng as its wwe just about everyone would know it was his last match.

Why should he be given the Title for wrestling this long? The reason he is wrestling this long is because he's blown millions of dollars on booze, drugs and women over the years and he should have retired at leats 10 years ago
I still think he's more entertaining then half the roster in and outside of the ring. I think he should retire from wrestling weekly... but I have no problem with him working a few matches here and there if he can still go..

Re: Flair to call it a day?
Mmmm, got to admit I'm not onside with the whole "winning the title on his last day" thing.
It's more than enough, in my opinion, that he should get a HoF to himself and go out with a barn storming last match ever at Wrestlemania 24.
As for the opponent, there are so many ideas really. From a business viewpoint it'd be a coup for a younger wrestler to get the moniker of "retiring Flair" so Cody Rhodes, MVP or Mr Kennedy would be high on that list.
Alternatively, you could put him out with a match against a main eventer as like a tribute match where it kind of wouldn't matter who won....maybe a Jericho (if he returns by then), Hunter, Cena, Michaels, Edge.....all fit the bill.
Or do some kind of legends match, maybe just one on one, or maybe a legends six way or something. Any of Steamboat (if his ex-wife let's him use that name again), Piper, Dusty, Funk, Snuka, Arn Anderson....I'm sure there are others.... could go in a limited way on this card. I would have included Savage there but I'm sure that would be a no!!
