Rep Power: 54 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Mysterio Implicated In Benoit's Doctor's Federal Indictment? Rey Mysterio may be the latest WWE superstar implicated in the federal government's investigation into Dr. Astin's improper steroid and drug prescriptions. Chris Benoit was not actually mentioned in Dr. Astin's indictment. Astin was charged with seven counts of prescribing excessive amounts of anabolic steroids, Percocet, Xanax, Lorcet, and Vicoprofen to two individuals cited as "O.C." and "M.J." between April 2004 and September 2005. There is a great deal of speculation that the M.J. is Mark Jindrak or Mart Jannetty (who lives in Atlanta, GA) and the O.C. is Oscar Guttierez (the real name of Rey Mysterio). Both Mysterio and Jindrak were part of the SmackDown! Brand during the cited time period and both were close with Benoit backstage. Prior to the Benoit tragedy, WWE Creative originally planned for Rey Mysterio Jr. to make his return from injury at this week's SmackDown! tapings, which took place in his home state in San Jose, California. Those plan were scrapped and Mysterio was not used on the show. wrestlezone

To just take names off the list of people he supposedly supplied and then to try and cross check them off against guys on the WWE roster in some sort of pseudo Miss Marple manner is just wrong. I actually heard about this a couple of days ago and thought "you know what I bet some fucked up wrestling rumours sites stick this out there when it is complete hyperbole". I'm all for rumours, but hell, there isn't even any implication that the O.G and M.J on the list are even wrestlers, or even that they are living in America since it's entirely possible their order was shipped. I don't doubt that Rey is or was using at some point, he has a lot of the signs, but this report is nothing but a guessing game. I find it weird how Benoit never tested positive. This is my take.. I believe that WWE leaks the information on when someone will be tested and gives them an opportunity to clean up beforehand.. The people that are suspended are the people who are too dumb to clean up right before the test.

I think that's just a typo from Wrestlezone, I read O.G as well originally. Brandon, what you have to remember is that the guys are told well enough in advance when they are going to be tested and, I'm sure we can all imagine what tricks they can come up with (especially on urine tests) to pass. To give an idea, regarding the testosterone levels, most of us have a 1:1 testosterone level. In the NFL you are allowed to have a 4:1 (that's four times an average persons testosterone level) before you test positive. At Olympic level, you are allowed a 6:1 (and in the NFL their coverage is 100%....that is they will just typically test for this once a year). In WWE, you can expect to be tested at least four times a year, so 400% coverage!! In WWE, I have read that you can pretty much be anything up to 10:1 (that's 10 times above the normal level) before they will take you off the road and penalise you. And even then only on the basis that you are not in possession of a legal prescription for testosterone. I forgot what the measurement is, but each (average) persons testosterone will measure at roughly 300 something or others! If you are a user in the WWE, what you will typically do is come off testosterone for a period of time. Your natural body (if you've been on the junk) will have not been producing it's own testosterone, therefore your level will be incredibly low when you've come off the gas. Then, you go see a Dr, and the Dr will say....."you're level is low....you need some testosterone....here have a bunch of it on prescription". You (the wrestler) then also get hold of a whole bunch of it illegally as well, but what that allows you to do, is then (when you test high) say to the "Wellness" dudes......"I am sorry my level is so high, I have an issue (or I have been injured) and have to take this stuff.....here....I have a legal prescription"!! And they say I can't do serious and intelligent!!

It's sooo obvious that Rey was on steroids, however this report isn't really any proof at all. I will say out of the guys have the "steroid look" I think Lashley is least likley to be on em. |

Rey's torso looks to be about twice as wide as it was when he was a "filthy Animal". I just find it hilarious when the WWE is like, guys serisously we never realised these dudes were on juice, its crazy and we are totaly shocked, for real brah, we had no idea.

The part I don't like is Vince going on TV and stating the fact that only five wrestlers have died on his watch (and one of those fell). It is a fact, we get it Vince, but it's ludicrous to try and hide behind the date of when these guys passed away as opposed to addressing the issue of why their health ended up in the condition it did (in a lot of cases due to the physique they had to attain to be pushed in WWE and the lifestyle of touring worldwide with the group).
