Rep Power: 63 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Bischoff shoots on TNA Eric said on the World Wrestling Insanity radio show that he gets many questions on his website about TNA. Many fans want to know if they're the next WCW or if he'll ever go to work for them. Here is what he had to say: "They have not done anything yet and I don’t even know any of those people except maybe Jeff Jarrett and a handful of talent working there. I don't know anyone behind the (scenes). I don't know Dixie Carter. If she showed up in my driveway, I wouldn't recognize her. I don't know anyone over there. I don't know who's doing what. I really don't care. So it's nothing personal here. I'd like to see them succeed…But the truth is, from what I've seen of their product, no one there really gets it. They're a small independent company that's been getting a 1.0 rating for the last five years. ..They keep trying to pull rabbits out of their hat with talent. 'Oh we're gonna bring in Sting and that's gonna turn the business around! ' Well, they brought in Sting, who's obviously a great talent, and guess what? Nothing happened. And then 'We're gonna bring in Christian Cage. It's a big surprise. He's hot in WWE and we got him and it's gonna turn things around.' Guess what? Nothing happened. Then 'We're gonna bring in Kurt Angle and he's the real deal. Things are gonna turn around!' Guess what? Nothing happened. Nothing's ever gonna happen until they get it Last edited by Crockerinho; 06-20-2007 at 08:41 PM.

Rep Power: 112 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Bischoff shoots on TNA Things about TnA I like...... The talent roster, lots of good talent there that I like including Angle, Joe, Christian, Rhino, Daniels, Roode, Styles, LAX, Storm (sometimes Harris too), Williams, Sabin, Lynn. I'm fine about the six sided ring, it looks cool enough and gives the show a different tint to other wrestling groups The audience is fine too, they get a good crowd in TNA, nice and vocal, and since they wouldn't sell out big arenas, it suits them too since if they tried to play a 20,000 seater it'd look awful The X-Division performers have become "wackier" since Nash (and Backlund) became involved but I am not against this and their new found "gimmicks". To me they all looked the bloody same in the past. I couldn't tell you the difference between a Shelley, a Sabin, a Starr,....no idea. All good, but all had that same generic indy guy look about them that made sure that 5 minutes after a "holy shit" match, I still wouldn't be able to tell you who the fuck they are. Now.....at last, they are getting "characters" which may or may not lead somewhere for them, but at least help with recognition. Things I frikkin' hate about TnA - Maybe this is what Bischoff was alluding to, but one of my biggest "hates" (and I truly deeply hate this) is that nobody can ever beat anyone in TnA. I am so fed up with this. There may be a few exceptions but my endearing memory of any title match, any big feud match in TnA is that nobody ever wins clean. There has to be 12 different run in's in every big match and a fuckfinish. Please stop it TnA, at the end of the day it results in nobody ever getting over since everyone remains at the same level. Somebody there has to say, "you know what.....tough shit whoever, you are losing today and you are losing clean because we need to get this guy over".......instead they must be saying "you are losing today, but we will protect you and so you will lose only after twelve people have hit the ring and screwed you out of the match so really, it won't look like you've actually lost after all" Claims of success. Fans of TnA, people in TnA, please stop claiming that TnA are a successful company. I heard this analogy the other day that made me chuckle. TnA are a guy that started a business and almost bankrupt himself in the process. He then marries a woman who is a multi billionaire. He then claims that he is a success. Lol. This group has never made money (quite the opposite) and, without a "money mark" in Dixie Carter, they would be out of business many times over. So, and this is just a personal "annoyance" please stop claiming that this is a successful company! The Director of programming. This man must be fired. Along with whoever in the writing team helps him with his direction. At the end of any feud that has run for a decent length of time, when the victor has finally vanquished his foe, this is a special moment, wrestling is an illusion and special moments must be pointed out to the fans on TV. I'll give you two examples, at the end of the incredible Storm-Harris match on PPV, the end of a feud between two competitors that had been there pretty much from day one in TnA and an incredible blood soaked match, the fans were in raptures, this was a great moment. But what did TnA do? What did the director do? Straight away, they cut to backstage for a generic promo (I think from Sting) to talk about a match on a PPV that the fans at home had already paid for. They were getting no extra buys from cutting backstage. Instead they should have shown the crowd reaction to this awesome match, showed Harris and Storm to be getting this reaction, earned this reaction. Let the people who bought the PPV see this for a minute so they can think "hey that was special, they are telling me that was a great moment". Fans enjoy that. Instead the director cut away straight away, so the message was "that is over, there is no need to remember that, we're moving immediately to the next thing". It's a 3 hour frikkin' PPV, let the special moments show and be enjoyed and taken in. Exactly the same thing happened to Eric Young at the end of a god knows how long feud with Roode. An awesome display, he wins the feud.....what happens, 2 and 1/2 seconds later we cut backstage to talk to The Dudleys.....about nothing!! This is why, at the end of 5 years of TV, the only "great moment" I can think of from TnA is still that hurricanrana walk off the cage from Elix Skipper, because they make nothing seem special. Another crap thing from the director (and they do this a lot), again from the Young match....he hit that incredible FU on Brooks and Roode and goes for the pin....and the director cuts to look at the crowd. Fucking fire this twat who clearly knows nothing about wrestling programming. Impact. The PPV's are fine. They used to be better, but even now they are still fine and you usually get one or two excellent matches and another couple of fine ones. These are good efforts (aside from the points made above). But Impact. Good god no. This company is called "Total Non-Stop Action". Impact is Total Non-Stop Talking. In some effort to get into 42 minutes of TV around 40 performers. I'm serious, there have been episodes where they have fitted almost the entire roster onto a 42 minute show. The reason being that, yet again, everyone must be on, everyone must be seen all the time, therefore no one in special. This is a "communist" group!!! Everyone is the same, no one is special!! Impact should exist to only promote PPV's and therefore make this group money. PPV's are bought by people who desperately want to see two guys in a feud have a fight. You only need to build up three or four of these matches for the PPV to sell and 42 minutes a week is more than enough for that to be done well, people aren't buying the PPV's for the undercard so quit giving the undercard equal time on the TV show. So all this "one hour programmes aren't enough" is bullshit. Some of the best TV shows in wrestling, OVW a few years back, Raw & Nitro over 10 years ago, were one hour shows, so one hour is plenty enough time to produce a good TV show, so frikkin start doing it TnA!! Hahaha, rant over, pull your frikkin finger out TnA and start being the company I want you to be and you could be and stop wasting your potential dumbasses!!

And why on earth do people like VKM still get matches on PPV? they are washed up..

It also is sets it apart as what it was marketed as when it was introduced... an Aternative. I personally like it much better than WWE. THe storylines that they do have are still relevant to wrestling, rather than the soap opera like stories we get in most feuds withing WWE. TNA has gone off the path with some story lines, Sting / Abyss for example, but they keep more of what they do centered around what happens in the ring.

It works for them. Not only that, but the actual mat area is larger, or at least appears to be, than a standard ring. This gives the fast, agile guys more space to move around in, and gives them the chance to put on some real displays. And besides, I'm never going to give a single shit about any words that come from the mouth of the guy who put the WCW title around David Arquette's waist.

With Lance Hoyt now a heel maybe they wont be so boring. Team 3D. They have never been one of my favourites and i hated when they got the tag titles. Dump both of them when their contracts are up. Push MCMG & Serotonin instead. --- As Tyler said about the camera cutting away at stupid times. --- Kurt Angle is the champion. Since Samoa Joe is injured so i'll let that slide but i think Styles or Cage would have been better. I would have liked for TNA to go the surprise route and give Harris the title. With Joe injured i'd have Cage and Styles go tag team until Scott Steiner returns. Just to take the place. Put Chris Harris & Robert Roode in the main event picture. Team Roode with Angle when needed and team Harris with Jarrett when needed. On the six sided ring, I like it. It doesnt look the exact same as every other of the 300 full time wrestling promotions. People who say it looks Cheesy or whatever obviousally dont watch TNA enough. In any other company, you have to hit the ropes near the centre, in TNA you ca hit them anywhere and get the same momentoum. It makes more action and means moves can be hit from more locations.
