Statement from the Office of One Pro Wrestling

Thursday April 19th 2007 - Doncaster, UK

Earlier this week One Pro Wrestling expressed to our fans that in light of the political issues both on screen and off at our April 6th Resurrection event between 1PW and NWE officials , both companies were struggling to come to suitable terms to allow the proposed inter-promotional match between them to take place on July 1st at Know Your Enemy.

1PW’s highest concern at this point is to ensure we deliver to our fans the absolute best quality pro wrestling shows possible, and it was the general consensus that although Resurrection was a great show, the underlying issue’s did directly effect the quality of the show.

After two weeks of negotiations we feel that the best step forwards is to NOT present the proposed match on July 1st, and to instead focus our energies on brining our fans the quality of show that lives up to the history of One Pro Wrestling’s past.

One Pro Wrestling and Nu-Wrestling Evolution remain on good terms, and will still be working together on the International DVD distribution of the Resurrection event, including its release in the UK nationally via HMV and Virgin Megastore, its broadcast on Italian television, and other projects. One Pro Wrestling wishes NWE the absolute best of luck in all their future endeavours, and wish to point out that collaboration in the future is not out of the question.

1PWOnline.com today got comments from 1PW owner Steven Gauntley …. “ We are sure the right decision has been reached here. If between the two companies we cant deliver the quality of show 1PW fans deserve, then what is the point of doing it ? In place of the inter-promotional match, we have some incredibly exciting idea’s for Know Your Enemy, that I am positive 1PW fans will be really happy about, and that what we will present June 30th and July 1st, will far surpass the original plan. I would expect us to make some major announcements with regards to further match ups at Know Your Enemy within the next week. On behalf of my family and team, I want to again thank 1PW fans for their continued support, and we want to take this opportunity to re-affirm our commitment to you, to continue to bring you unique, original, and exciting world class pro wrestling shows “

Know Your Enemy ( featuring Ulf Herman, Sterling James Keenan, Marty Jannetty, Abyss, Bryan Danielson, Delirious, Pac, James Wallace, Doug Williams, and many more ) takes place Live from the Doncaster Dome, Saturday June 30th and Sunday July 1st ( with a special Devils Due afternoon show on Sunday July 1st )

Tickets for these shows are on sale now via 1pwonline.com, and via the Doncaster Dome Box Office by calling 01302 370777

TBH, Good.

The show they put on together was terrible with all the NWE run ins and stupid finishes, it made both look bad and i'm pleased there isn't going to be more join promotions between them.

I am glad the talent may still be coming over as NWE do have some very good wrestlers as shown at Resurrection.
