Rob Van Dam Gives His Notice To WWE?

Rob Van Dam Gives His Notice To WWE?

Posted by: Daniel Pena - February 05th, 2007

source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

Rob Van Dam did the clean job for Hardcore Holly at the 1/30 ECW show because he likely gave his notice to WWE officials. He had until the end of last week to give his notice or else his expiring contract would roll over under the same terms. We should know in a few days if he actually did though; it hasn't been 100% confirmed at press time. If he did, he would be able to negotiate with other companies, namely TNA, or even if with WWE again under some new terms. Had he not, he wouldn't be able to at least weigh his options.

What is known is that RVD has had his mind set on leaving WWE when his contract expires and that he had planned to give his notice. RVD probably giving his notice explains why he had no part in the "ECW Originals" angle on last week's show. Also, the nature of how he lost cleanly to Holly came off as a "giving notice" job. On the otherhand, CM Punk's job to Matt Striker was more of a "doghouse" job.

RVD's actual contract expires over the summer.

Can TNA really afford him? He's going to be a top earner with only Sting and Angle likely to be earning more but TNA are still losing alot of money

If he becomes avaible I think TNA will flip the bill for one of the final pieces. He's worth it. He's been a world champ, people think highly of him. I think it would be awsome...

it's fuckin sad that the wwe, treated him like this, he shouldn't have got caught with the hash in the first place, but that doesn't give them the right to have him job to bob holly.

It's not really a surprise he's leaving. I know he fucked up but c'mon you can't tell me most wrestlers don't take painkillers and smoke a little bit of pot. RVD was just unfortunate to get caught with em and well, Vince never did really care for a superstar he didn't create.

I hope he does go to TNA. I think that RVD could really do some big things for TNA. I just hope that he doesn't whine and cry like Kurt Angle did in interviews which made a lot of people not like him any more.

RVD just needs to go to TNA and focus on TNA. Leave the past in the past and focus on taking TNA to the next level.

They really need that 2 hr time slot each week. The roster is getting huge.
