I wonder how "deep" Panda want to get into it with TnA? There already running a massive loss leader there (hopefully a leader anyway). Looking at their numbers and the debt their running up already, it makes me wonder whether Panda have just said "screw it, let's take a risk and bring in some really bigger name guys and see if we can crack it, give it a year and then cut our losses".
If they do that, I wonder how long they'll then give it till they'll want to see some improvements in ratings and viability?
That's a good question. Yes, Panda does have a lot of money, but they are losing a lot on TNA right now (I believe they lost something like $15 million last year) so you have to wonder how long they will continue to support the product.
If Panda pulls out of its ownership of TNA, the company wouldn't survive.
No doubt the biggest move TNA has ever made but it still saddens me to think that Angle is going to once again trying to drive himself into an early grave.
I couldn't agree more.
It's about time......now bring on his next fued....
Kurt Angle has a very good contract! He'll literally be doing 1 or 2 tv shows a month plus ppv. & remember for the moment TNA aren't really doing house shows etc. So right now he'll be extremely happy. But i've got a feeling he won't be the only big name from WWE that'll make the jump
On the TNA website, Angle said that WWE was holding him back and was rarely happy there. I guess WWE wanting him to take some time off really was the reason he signed with TNA. I could see Angle maybe competing in Ring of Honor as well.

He wasn't happy? Why, because WWE wanted him to clean up his act and get healthy? I can see him being somewhat upset about being moved over to ECW, but aside from that, WWE treated him well, despite his constant injuries.
He just admitted several weeks ago that he couldn't wrestle w/o taking painkillers (and a large dose). Now he's suddenly healed?
Angle's contract with TNA isn't exclusive, and his manager said that Angle will continue to train for MMA (I've heard he could fight Daniel Puder next year)...this guy just doesn't know when to stop.

I think they'll give it a couple years. They are billionaires. I'm not sure what kind of mindset they have but if it's anything like Ted Turner, meaning, what can we do to top WWE? Then, TNA is in good shape providing they dont blow it with the booking..
I really don't think that Angle is going to affect TNA's current status that much. It is a great move by TNA but I don't think that they will be able to come up with any viable competition to the WWE any time soon.

If TNA's goal was to compete with WWE right now, then I'd say the move won't do much. But that shouldn't be their goal and I don't think it is.
The Kurt Angle signing is just one step towards their expansion. they don't expect Angle to push them to WWE status. They want Angle's signing to get people talking, which it has, and then they want more people to tune in. I thinbk more people will tune in. How many more? Who knows.. but it'll be more.
Next, they throw at you AJ Styles, Samoa Joe and the rest of the greats that the casual fans don't know yet. The plan from ther should be to catch more people's interest with the people they don't know then the people they do know.
Then you do it all over again. Another guy gets brought in. Say, Brock Lesnar for argument sake. This gives other new fans a reason to watch. then you try to hook them with the AJ's and hopefully other talented Indy stars they've signed by that point.
It's a lengthy process. It could take 5, 10, 15 years, but the plan is to gain more and more fans with each big signing.
At least that's how I would go about it. I liek the business field much more then the teaching field
I really like the Kurt signed with TNA, i saw on wrestleview they said that this is the best thing for him. After reading it i'd have to agree, like it said Kurt Angle isnt the type of guy whos just gonna sit and do nothing, which is what WWE wanted him to do. They wanted him to take time off and sit and do nothing to heal. In TNA he'll only be working 3-4 shows a month, probably only 2 or 3. So he'll get to do what he wants plus he'll get the rest plus there'll be hardly any travel time.
As far as what it'll do for TNA, it'll help ratings but not enough to compete with WWE. I think the only possible way TNA will get to compete with WWE is they'll need some more big names... Jericho? Lesner? then they NEED a live monday night time slot.
