The Wrestling Observer is reporting that TNA's big surprise announcement this weekend will be the return of Vince Russo, who will join the TNA creative end (no word on an on camera role, but if history is any indication...) There were rumors of this making the rounds over the last 24 hours. Earlier today, on the PWInsider.com Hotline, I noted that the announcement needed to be something major or the company would be veering into "Vince Russo WCW territory." Well, Toto, welcome to Atlanta.

This disqusts me and I can't believe I have to see former WCW Champion, Vince Russo again.

This is the big news? I hope not. Vince Russo was a good writer when he had someone like Vince McMahon to tell him what ideas were bad and didn't work(back when McMahon also knew what didn't work), but we saw what Russo can do when there is no one to restrict him(anyone remember Pinata on a Pole matches between Mexican wrestlers and the infamous "Who is the father of Stacy Keibler's child?" storyline?).

If that's the big news then that is the death of that company.
Whether it's right or wrong to bring back a man who, without the influence of VKM pulling back his excesses, was a unmitigated failure, TNA should not be advertising his return as though it were the return of The Rock or Hogan or some other huge deal when it clearly, painfully is quite the opposite

I agree. As stated on the WO website, the negotiations with Goldberg will now come to an end with Russo coming back on board. He has a deal with Spike! for another TV show and was talking with TNA about the possibility of getting a Sting-type deal.
Wonder who will be the first guys not to renew their contracts? Kevin Nash comes to mind since his deal is coming up soon.
Kevin Nash is already essentially gone from TNA from what I heard. Also, some are saying that this may not be the big announcement but something that happened along the way.

Hmmm well, with this news, and my words already on the "Big Announcment" it's obvious I am the least bit surprised, but I do have to add one thing.....
