Sucks to be Matt Hardy again then. I'm guessing he would have probably faced Kennedy at PPV had Henry not been benched

This is a suprising one for me. Mr Kennedy just got beat last week by Matt Hardy, and now he'll probably get beat by Batista.

Bastista needed to kill Henry, or whoever he faced at the Bash. He won't be able to squash Kennedy, but he can make him look good, to elevate him up the card.

My thoughts exactly.

This also leaves Ken is a tricky situation. He would pick up a victory against Hardy but now that he's bound to lose to Batista, he better put on the match of a lifetime and get as much as out of this brief main event spotlight as he can get.

On the upside i have to say this: At least they kept it in the brand. I heard and read all kinds of names from Big Show to Brock Lesnar and they all made the same statement: Smackdown is such a weak brand it has to reach out to be able to present a main event for its PPV.
It's not true.

He wouldn't be able to squash anybody. We're talking the PPV's advertised main event.

They didn't really have much choice here, here are the only other heel wrestlers on SD not already in matches:
Gregory Helms
Psicosis
Jake (Gymini)
Jesse (Gymini)
Simon Dean
Sylvan

Not much choice there. Still, this is a tricky situation here. They need to have Batista win but not make Kennedy look weak. Damn Mark Henry and his injury prone body.

What crap.

#1 - This shafts Matt Hardy COMPLETELY.

#2 - Despite the fact that there aren't many dominate Smackdown heels, there are quite a few in ECW.

#3 - I believe I would've rather seen a ****y Sylvan come out, take up the open challenge, and get completely squashed. The fans want to see it.
