Next Saturday Night Main Event

I wanted to let you know that locally here in the Dallas/Ft.Worth market, commercials were run last night announcing a Saturday Night's Main Event here in Dallas as the American Airlines Center for Saturday July 15 with both Raw and SD stars. Tickets were said to go on sale this Saturday 3/25.

I'm not surprised. Most people go out on Saturday nights now and even if they watched the show it was probably at a sports bar. I forgot it was even on and went to the casino.

If I watch this it means I'm not getting fucked up and I'm not fucking, which means I'll be in a pissy mood and not want to talk about wrestling.

Saturday night would be fine but the problem is the WWE product isn't interesting enough to make enough people want to stay home and watch it.

I gurantee you that had WWE run a Saturday night special on TV in 1998-2000 the ratings would've been huge. A 3.2 rating for a prime-time special on network TV is terrible. Don't know if fans are too burned out from having 2 other weekly shows on TV or what, but for WWE not to get a 6.0 or higher is bad news.

Also, most boxing and UFC pay-per-views are on Saturday nights and if there's a good fight to be seen, the buy rates are high.

I only saw the main event because by the time I got home it was 2.40am and there was only that left. I was a bit pissed tho because The Wrestlemania main event match wasn't on last.

I think it got a 3.4 not a 3.2, but that's still pretty bad. I think part of the reason can be because of the NCAA tournament, but the WWE product just isn't as good or popular as it used to be. The July one should do better since it will be in the summer so more people will be home and most networks will be airing re-runs.

Visit and shop for video games at my Amazon-based store, also get discounted HD DVDs while they last.

I read that the 18-34 demographic did solid which is more then it does in what is normally shown in that timeslot.

March 28th: Ring of Honor in Orlando, FL, March 29th: WWE Hall of Fame in Orlando, FL, March 30th: WWE Wrestlemania XXIV in Orlando, FL
April 13th: TNA Lockdown from Lowell, MA
