The plan is for Jim Ross to make his on-screen WWE return at next week's "Saturday Night's Main Event" telecast on NBC.

There had been talk that WWE wanted to reintegrate Ross into storyline, at least for the short-term, as part of the build to WrestleMania, and it seems as if WWE has officially decided on a date.

Ross will be commentating this event, although it is not believed he will be brought back as a full-time announcer for RAW or SmackDown.

Ross, who remains under WWE contract, has been off WWE TV since his on-air "firing" late last year.

Awesome news. I hope he SNME gets big ratings and they decide to bring J.R. back to Raw where he belongs.

jr is cool but what is so wrong with styles? its good to have a change and imo jr should be used at joint ppvs

Well nothing is really wrong with Styles I don't guess but I just don't like him. J.R. and King will always be Raw in my opinion. I say stick with the three man announce with J.R., King, and Styles and make Coach a manager.

I'll be honest, I don't care about JR. I hope him coming back won't push Styles away. I hope I get this right but it will be like Wrestlemania VII or what ever the one was held at Caesar's Palace and Gorilla Monsoon announced JR to the ring and that was it with him. Hopefully, JR will pass the torch or play by play to Styles.

There is an interview with him on wwe.com. Some of the key points is him saying that he will not return to Raw as it is Joey Style's show now.

Also, he said at Saturday Night Main Event, it will be him, King, and Tazz calling the action.

An update on JR's situation:

--Based on his performance at Saturday Night's Main Event, the feeling among many within WWE is that Jim Ross will be back with the company sooner than later. Ross is expected to host the Hall of Fame ceremony in Chicago, IL on April 1. There is also said to be some talk that Ross could end up calling a match at WrestleMania 22 the following night as well. With Vince McMahon still reportedly not happy with the current three man RAW announcing team, it reportedly wouldn't shock many in the company if Ross was brought back in that position. It should be noted that many in the company pointed out why Ross should have never been taken off TV in the first place given his performance on Saturday night.

I have been saying that all along. J.R. is Raw.

yes J.R is the voice of the WWE, but an issue that hs worried me is what would happen if J.R even quit? you cant risk building too much on one person...
