Lesnar Issues

- WWE has once again requested a temporary restraining order against Brock Lesnar to keep him from wrestling on the 2/19 New Japan Pro-Wrestling show. Judge Christopher Droney has told WWE that if they don't provide an argument as to why Lesnar's lawsuit against them should be argued in court, Droney will make a ruling by 1/25 on Lesnar's request for a summary judgment in the case. If the ruling is in favor of Lesnar, who could become free to work anywhere including TNA.

Man, I hope he wins and is able to wrestle for TNA. That would be huge for TNA.

If you look back at it, WWE have messed this case up so much.

I can't see them winning anymore and certainly they seem to just be stalling for time and trying to just effect Lesnar's short term earnings potential. Seems like a spiteful move. They had all the cards on their side at one stage, but lowballing him in contract negotiations after basing their whole case on how valuable a commodity he was to them was just plain dumb.

I really don't see the point the WWE is trying to make. Why would they do this? Just for revenge for him walking out?

Brock Lesnar in TNA doesn't excite me. He's bigger than that company

I don't think TNA could afford Lesnar at this point. Although I'm sure Lesnar would prefer the TNA schedule to WWE (a main reason why he left WWE in 2004 was because he was burned out on all the travel).

I still think Brock will eventually wind up back in WWE, but it may not be for a few years. Bulldog is right about how WWE had this case won, but screwed it up.

TNA isn't looking to spend anymore money right now considering how much they paid for Sting.

I can't blam WWE for doing this, Lesnar signed a contract with a 10 year no-compete clause and now he's trying to weasel out of it. I would still like to see him return to WWE and I think both sides would benefit from his return, he just has to realiaze that he has to wrestle the full schedule like the rest of the locker room.

Visit and shop for video games at my Amazon-based store, also get discounted HD DVDs while they last.

I agree, I can't see them being able to afford it at the moment. Maybe in a one shot deal like they were going to do with Hogan. Have Joe go and smack him around in Japan and then have Brock come back to get him (my dream match....I'm biased!!)

I also don't blame WWE for trying to do what they are doing now....I do blame their lawyers for messing this case up in the first place. Brock is pretty much in charge now, there's going to be little they can do about it.

Maybe one day he will go back?

From Prowrestling.com

A new hearing date has been set for WWE’s lawsuit against Brock Lesnar.

Judge Christopher Droney did in fact grant WWE motion to delay the scheduled hearing tomorrow for the company to oppose a summary judgment that would result in Brock Lesnar's non-compete being thrown out. The new date is set for February 8, 2006.

WWE and Brock Lesnar’s representation will each have 20 minutes before Droney, who will then decide weather or not to throw out WWE’s claim that allows Lesnar to wrestle world wide or keep the case going.
