Big Show's hand broken?

This comes from wwe.com.

Big Show suffers broken hand, vows to compete
December 27, 2005
Triple H showed the world once again why he is indeed the Cerebral Assassin. During Triple H and Big Show's contract signing for their match at New Year's Revolution, The Game jammed a pen in his opponent's eye. Triple H took the assault a step further when he retrieved a sledgehammer that he had cleverly already hidden underneath the contract-signing table. Then, with Big Show down on the outside of the ring, The Game crushed the big man's hand when he took the sledgehammer to it.

Big Show immediately fell to the ground, writhing and screaming in pain, while Triple H smugly smirked and walked back up the ramp. Show later learned that he had indeed broken his hand. While a sledgehammer and broken bones would stop most men, Big Show vows that he will still compete at New Year's Revolution and look to exact revenge.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I wonder if it is really broken? It did look like the sledge hammer really hit his hand. It also looked like he was really in pain too. This also could just be work to go along with the storyline.

Storyline wise he has a broken hand, but as several people in the Live Raw thread pointed out it did look like in slow motion that the sledgehammer hit Big Show's thumb. Poor Big Show, he's gonna just have to wrestle through the pain.

It might have really broken his thumb. He did look like he was in pain. I think he was actually crying. And he can't act that good so it had to be real.

Did you see the replay? The hammer really did hit his thumb......hard.

A broken hand? Of course not. That is part of the storyline. But I do think it hurt his thumb.

Yeah true, but i don't think it's broken, definitely would've hurt like hell though. Of course i could be wrong, but i don't think he's broken his hand and that this was the angle they were always going to run

Yeah I agree with you that part of it is storyline. But when he hit his thumb, you could tell Show was in real pain. I would say at the very least it badly bruised the thumb.

Just watch it in Slow motion. Its a sledge hammer, It really hit his thumb,Maybe not his hand, but his thumb is broken for sure. Just cause wwe is using it as a storyline doesent mean its fake. Show broke his thumb and now wwe will run with it.

And just because they're running a storyline because it hit his thumb, it doesn't mean he was injured. We could debate all that all night, but i can't be arsed, and really have no time for it. All i'll say is that i think they were going down this route anyways.

lol, Im not trying to argue, its all good.

Of course they were going for this storyline, thats why they had the sledge hammer spot in the first place, but accidents happen, and watching this in very slow motion it looked like the hammer smashed shows thumb.
