Some time in this January, Chris Benoit's current WWE contract with WWE will be expiring. Currently Benoit is said to be seeking a much lighter work schedule once his deal with the company does in fact expire.
It has been reported in the past that New Japan has contacted Chris Benoit about possibly working specific dates on a much lighter schedule then the WWE is currently offering him. At this time, Brock Lesnar is currently doing what they offered Benoit.
As of right now, TNA has not approached Benoit yet on a possible agreement or a contract with their company due to the fact they just recently invested a significant amount of money in signing Sting to just a one year deal. Panda Energy has given TNA plenty of money, but in this case that isn't the reason TNA hasn't approached him. Its simply that if they did what they did for Sting to for Benoit, it would show the core talent in TNA that the company is more worried about bringing in big names as opposed to using solid talent they already have. And based on what we are hearing, it appears TNA management values Sting's services over Benoit.
As it stands right now, Chris Benoit has not decided if he wants to renew his contract with WWE or pursue other alternatives in the business.

Yeah I think he'll stay there too.
The only thing that makes me think slightly different is Benoit's professional pride. At the moment he's in a rehash of a WCW feud from years ago and they've frankly not had a clue what to do with him since he dropped the gold to Orton.
The guy left WCW (rightly, as it turned out) for much less money than he was on in Atlanta, plus he left after having been giving the WCW title. I know full well about his issues with Kevin Sullivan but, hell, no WCW booker was ever going to be there longer than a month or two so he wasn't going to have to put up with Sullivan having the book for long.
That part of me thinks he will be looking at potential matches with guys like Kobashi and licking his lips. Probably also at the thought of being able to tear it up with guys like Styles, Joe and Daniels while he still physically can.
I do agree that I'm 75% thinking he'll stay, but he doesn't always swim with the tide does Mr Benoit.....and part of me kind of hopes he does go as well so he can have some of those matches and feuds mentioned above.
Yea, I don't know. There is just something about him that I dont like at all. I don't really find his moveset that good. I hate when the match consists of him trying to put the opponent the in the Crippler Crossface. To me that is not entertaining at all. Plus I find he doesn't have much of a moveset and seems to always end up getting in a Chop exchange with the opponent. And the final thing is I don't find him likeable as a wrestler because it seems as if he has no personality.

Your problem with him TRS is not largely his fault. He is, as with RVD and many others, instructed to wrestle a certain style and a certain way, chiefly by using certain moves only that the crowd are expected to react to. He is not a guy wrestling main eventers, so on PPV's he is not expected to showcase all his skills and try and steal the show (though this was "allowed" quite clearly when he had his world title push and in his matches with Angle), and when he is wrestling five minute free tv matches every week, with the repetoire laid out for him.....well over the course of five or six years I'm not surprised you're bored at his performances. So was I.
However, the guy is a steller worker (you'll have to trust me I guess) and hopefully he'll get the opportunity be it in WWE or not to showcase this again soon.
I think Benoit is being wasted on Smackdown & should be moved back to Raw. If Angle were to beat Cena for the title(which we all know he can do with with 1 boot on) Then a feud between Angle & Benoit would make for great watching. Right now i think he's being wasted & it wouldn't surprise me if he goes in January.
