An interesting devolpment that could change wrestling.....
There is rumour abound on the information superhighway once more but this time I think the implications are huge!!!!!
Now as someone (Ida) will point out this is only a rumour and can only be taken at face value but I think this information could change the landscape of wrestling today.
The rumour is this, Paul Heyman has three weeks to run on his contract and due to the "office" not getting along with him they are not looking to renew his contract. For those of you who didnt know Paul E has been down at OVW for the last six months and I think the increased charisma of the latest call-ups can be partially be creditted to him.
So why could this change wrestling? Well there's a little wrestling company down in Orlando with so much talent it looks like it will burst. The thing it has been lacking is creative direction and good booking. Heyman has few peers in this department and if he chooses, gets forced, or by some other magical happening ends up there I think we will finally have a true competitor for the WWE.
So with the mad professor at the helm and more and more truly talented individuals ending up at TNA would you start to sit up and take notice even more. I hope so because if Heyman moves it will make both companies have to raise their game.
I am hoping to see TNA be successful. On a much smaller scale, its similar to WCW-WWE. They are snagging names from WWE. I started watching TNA when they move to Spike but not really paying attention, it be on in the background. With the addition of Christian Cage, I will make sure to watch it. A TNA-WWE competition, I hope would raise the game of each company.
WWE would be fools to let him leave, he offers so much to the company. Just look at ECW One Night Stand: I can't remmeber a PPV aside from the Wrestlemanias that i've enjoyed more in the last few years.
On the other hand if he's off to TNA, then is that such a bad thing for us the wrestling fans? TNA is not a competitior yet, it still needs to grow in my opinion to be any sort of threat to WWE. But with Team 3D and Cristian Cage jumping ship, and now possibly Heyman will the tide start to turn? I hope so. What WWE and us the wrestling fans need is competition. The bar needs to be raised week after week, so in conclusion I hope Paul E's contract does run out and that he chooses to sign with the folks down in Orlando, Florida. As long as it makes Wrestling better.
Who knows by letting Paul's contract run out WWE might be doing themselfs a favour because the opposition may start to chip away at them.
I've been saying to various people elsewhere that we need another wrestling war. WWE is losing it because its got no main competition but now TNA is looking to become a major threat, they need someone to push it into competition with WWE and i think Heyman would be perfect to do that for TNA.

Unless WWE has someone else in mind to run OVW, I'd think that they would be likely to re-sign Heyman. Plus, he's a guy that if you're ever in a pinch, can jump back into the WWE mix and help the product so despite the fact that he and the McMahons don't always see eye-to-eye, they'd be silly to get rid of him.

It'd be a good fit. If I ran TNA I'd be keen to sign him to run the book that's for sure. It still won't make a massive dent in the gap between them and Vince but it'll help continue the gradual chipping away at their lead.
Well if he goes to TNA, the writing and creative is gonna be awesome. I always enjoyed it when Heyman was at the helm of writing, he knew how to book and tell a story. All I have to say is since WWE don't want him, jump Paul, jump!
