I don't think they crossed the line, if they had introduced the character after the terrorist attacks then I would agree. I can understand why UPN did that but that doesn't mean I have to like it, and if Hassan was on back on Raw I beleive we would still be watching him wrestle since cable networks are more leniant than broadcast networks are.

Get yourself an old wrestling tape. Watch Flair in his prime, Terry Funk, The Road Warriors, Dusty Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat, Barry Windham, The Andersons, Pat Patterson, The Briscoes, and I dare you,... I dare you to try to tell me that WWE is even a remotely good product. Wrestling happened before 1998 and just because you didn't see it does not mean it did not exist. Broaden your horizons people!!!
They still ran that angle. Obviously they weren't terrorists and hell, there are group ambushings all the time in wrestling. And even ones with hooded people (Undertaker Ministry days). It's just they presented soemthing that could've been connected to terrorism, unfortunately due to the race of the character he played and seeings though Terrorism is an open wound, not only in America, but the world. They should've known better
I wish my sex life was like ECW, first you get a One Night Stand followed by 2 months of nostalgic orgasms and then 6 months of constant sucking.
I think we will see a variation of the Mohammed Hassan character on the big screen soon. If Die Hard 4 were being made it would feature Arabic terrorists, likewise a whole host of action films. I think there could be a niche for a guy who played his character better than I've seen anyone do since SCSA.
I was just watching Vince Mcmahon on the Big Idea with Donny Deutsch and Vince just said that the reason the Hassan character didn't work had more to do with the person playing the character than anything. So is it not really UPN's fault that the Hassan character was discontinued?

I think Vince didn't want to piss off UPN since they still have a year left on their contract with them and if Vince said it was UPN's fault then Smackdown might get and even worser time slot(like saturday night sunday morning at midnight). The character was working fine untill UPN told them to get rid of the character.
I just hope that they eventually bring him back because I liked the character and I always looked foward to seeing him. I almost got to see him but the SD I went to was the first one after GAB.
