Here are the dark match, Velocity and SmackDown! taping results from last night in Greensboro, North Carolina:
Dark Match Sylvain "Sly" Grenier defeated a local enhancement worker Velocity Taping Vito defeated a local enhancement worker Doug Basham defeated Caprice Coleman Simon Dean defeated Russell Simpson Scotty 2 Hotty defeated William Regal by DQ
Paul Burchall (a WWE developmental prospect from England) ran in and attacked Scotty.
SmackDown! Taping Randy Orton defeated Hardcore Holly
"Cowboy" Bob Orton was in his son's corner.
They ripped off Don Callis' character from ECW's show on TNN by debuting a new authority figure from "The Network" who dictated some of Theodore Long's decisions. Obviously WWE created this due to frustrations over being handcuffed by UPN just as Paul Heyman was handcuffed by TNN back in the day. This "network executive" came up with the idea of Batista vs. JBL for the World Title on the debut of Friday Night SmackDown! in two weeks.
Christian's guests on "The Peep Show" were Booker T and Sharmell. The Mexicools ran in, and Christian and Booker ended up teaming up to clear the ring of the group.
Chris Benoit did a spot backstage where he said he beat Orlando Jordan at SummerSlam faster than it takes him to drink a cup of coffee. They then showed footage from SummerSlam of the match while Benoit simultaneously drank a cup of coffee to prove his point.
Heidenreich defeated Joey Mercury by DQ
Johnny Nitro ran in with a chair for the DQ.
Psicosis and Super Crazy (with Juventud) defeated Christian and Booker T
Christian left Booker on his own, who then fell victim to a double-team for the loss.
Theodore Long announced a Lingerie Pillow Fight between new SmackDown! Divas Christy Hemme and Stacy Keibler, but the "network executive" came out and said the match could not air. They ended up booking the match for the live crowd, with Christy winning.
Ken Kennedy (aka Ken Anderson) defeated Funaki Batista, Chris Benoit and Rey Mysterio defeated JBL, Orlando Jordan and Eddie Guerrero
Orlando took a German suplex from Benoit, a 619 from Rey and the Batista Bomb from Batista one right after the other to lead to the defeat. JBL walked out on the match prior to the finish.
No post-taping dark match.
