The following was posted at WWE.com today:
WWE.com has learned that Brock Lesnar has met with his attorney, David Olsen, to discuss the written contract offer Lesnar received last week from World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. It is unclear when the contract will be signed. The terms were not disclosed.
Even though WWE has done a lot of questionable things as of late, I think that there is no way they would post an announcement like the one above if they didn't have Lesnar locked up. So I expect that his return to WWE action is now imminent, and perhaps he'll return as soon as SummerSlam.
Why do they ruin most of these big main eventer returns. Lesnar would get much more of a pop if they didn't announce the possibility of return before it happens. The element of surprise always works better. Imagine if say Bret Hart were to return at the next pay per view with no one thinking there was even a possibility of it. The pop would be huge. Well if Bret Hart ever returns it would be a huge pop anyway. But getting back to the point if they had not announced it and just had Lesnar show up, he would get a much bigger pop in my opinion. Maybe they think this will help ratings giving it the "will he or won't he come back" option. I guess they think people will tune in to see if he coming back or not.

Yep and the real fans get screwed in the end because it could be something good but it ends up crap to draw some semi-interested fans to watch the Lesnar return and then change the channel.

I don't think there was any doubt that Brock would be returning so they are just going with what is already known out there. I think WWE is still doing a good job giving us enough surprises these days.

But wouldnt long term ratings improve overall if the element of suprise was there each week?

Yea maybe your right. I haven't saw enough surprises lately to satisfy me. The Matt Hardy angle was a surprise I guess but I don't like what they are doing with it so that doesn't count in my eyes.

That's what I was trying to say Simon. I believe that they would.

Ya but there is no way they can keep doing surprises every week. That and it would also take away from the rest of the show if you had surprises all the time. If you expect a surprise, it starts to no longer become a surprise.

They did around 1998. I never knew what was going to happen when I tuned in for Raw. Of course that was before I started frequenting this site too. Hey maybe this site ruined the element of surprise for me....lol.
