Due to recent verbal outbursts at Ohio Valley Wrestling events, WWE has suspended Jim Cornette. Tommy Dreamer informed the OVW talent roster that Cornette would be going on "vacation" for the next 4 to 5 weeks, and that he would over see Cornette's duties. Al Snow and Danny Davis will be assisting Dreamer during Cornette's leave of absence.

Our sources are telling us that while Jim Cornette is serving his suspension from OVW the tv shows will be written by Tommy Dreamer, Al Snow, and Danny Davis. Al Snow is expected to appear on OVW tv this week either to explain Cornette's absence or to sit in the announcer's chair.
A source close to OVW tells us the feeling among many in OVW is that the suspension was long overdue because of Cornette's frequent temper tantrums.

I know it's sorta the same thing, but he wasn't suspened he was placed on an "involuntary leave of absence", at least according to the news reported by JV.

Part of the reason he seems upset is that they've lost several good wrestlers who have been called up to the WWE including MNM,the Hearthrobs, and Chris Masters.

Where did you read that? Wouldn't he be happy they made it. Kind of shows how good of a job he's doing...

I believe he is happy that they got called up, but with so many getting called up recently and others getting reassigned to DSW(WWE's new Georgia developmental territory), OVW has lost a lot of quality talent.

Here is the full story behind what happened with Jim Cornette at the OVW tapings last week.

Kevin Fertig was in the ring with Daniel Puder as his partner against the team of Kenzo Suzuki and El Diablo in a dark match. The match was designed to give Suzuki and Puder some ring time to work in front of a live crowd.

Fertig came to the ring with a baseball cap on backwards and apparently just goofed around in the ring and put his hat back on after taking bumps. Jim Cornette sent word from the backstage area to the ring that he needed to stop his stupid antics.

Once the message was received, Fertig took a sombrero that a fan had at ringside and did more stupid antics, When he returned to the back after the match, Cornette threw a fit and cut a pretty nasty promo on him which caused him to be suspended from OVW.

Fertig is said to be unpopular in some circles backstage but is also someone who has great potential. He was also inovled in a fight at a bar in Louisville, Kentucky several months ago and has court scheduled for this summer.

There was concern last week that they were actually going to fire Cornette but Jim Ross stepped in and clamed the situation down. He'll be back in about five weeks.

Tommy Dreamer will be overseeing Ohio Valley Wrestling TV while Cornette takes a break with Lance Storm, Al Snow, and Danny Davis also expected to pitch in. (PWI)

I don't blame Cornette for getting upset, it sounds like the former Mordecai was joking around too much.

"someone who has great potential"? I didn't see his PPV matches but I always thought that Fertig sucked in the ring.
