Wrestling News & RumorsProfessional wrestling news and hot wrestling rumors can be found here. WWE, TNA, and ECW wrestling.
Please note that many threads may contain spoilers and may not always be labeled as such
Current WWE contracted wrestlers who could appear: Tommy Dreamer, Tazz, Rob Van Dam, Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, Eddy Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, Chris Jericho, Rhyno, Tajiri, Nunzio, Bubba Dudley, DVon Dudley, Spike Dudley, Stevie Richards, Simon Dean (Nova), Chilly Willy (currently in OVW), Lance Storm (OVW trainer), Al Snow, Johnny Swinger (recent signee), Joey Matthews, Dawn Marie, Lita and naturally Paul Heyman.
Axl Rotten: An unlikely candidate to be even acknowledged by WWE, but he was still an integral part of the ECW "Hardcore" Revolution. They could team him up with Balls Mahoney or even bring back Ian Rotten (who runs IWA Mid South)..
Bill Alfonso: The long time manager of ECW mainstays like Sabu, Rob Van Dam, and Taz. He'll most likely be accompanying Sabu to the ring.
Jason Knight: Known in ECW simply as "Jason" he was the manager of the Impact Players. His overbearing character made him a natural heel.
Justin Credible: He is a former ECW Heavyweight champion with a great ECW character. His only flaw was that he did not get over in the WWE while using the exact same gimmick. The best choice for bookers here could possibly be an Impact Players reunuin with Lance Storm, who is currently a trainer at Ohio Valley Wrestling.
Masato Tanaka: Another former ECW Heavyweight champion has confirmed from Japan that he agreed to appear on One Night Stand. His matches with Mike Awesome are legendary, and WWE would be smart to contact Awesome for a rematch.
Sabu: Still rehabing from a back injury, but is expected to be healthy for the show. Sabu might be the most recognizable wrestler ever who wasn't part of WCW or WWF.
Sandman: Arguably one of the top 2 Icon's of ECW folklore. Expect an extended version of his famous entrance routine.
Tony Mamaluke: A member of the Full Blooded Italians, one of the most likely guys to be signed by WWE after the show is over.
Tracy Smothers: He was a member of the great faction known as "The Full Blooded Italians". This group was led by a smaller athlete named Little Guido, who is currently wrestling on Smackdown! as Nunzio. They could easily rehash the FBI gimmick on Pay Per View.
Referees John Finnegan & Mike Kehner & Jim Molineaux: In an attempt to make the show as authentic as humanly possible, they're bringing in the actually crew of referees from ECW.
They better have Fonzie, Jason, and Credible. Wouldn't be the same w/out them, especially if they want to do an Impact Players Reunion. Toss in Sandman and Sabu too, that'll really bring it back to the old days... Gawd I miss ECW on TNN!
