booker t signs for 2 more years.

In their continuing efforts to hype Wrestlemania 21, ESPN Radio 710 AM’s McDonnell/Douglas show, hosted by “The Big Nasty” Joe McDonnell and Doug Kirkorian broadcast their show live from Rob Van Dam’s Five Star Comics store at the Lakewood Mall in Lakewood, California. RVD, of course, was there to sign autographs and to raffle off six pairs of tickets for WrestleMania with the grand prize being a pair of ringside seats (unfortunately, Joe and Doug went off the air before the raffle took place). Rob also took time to sign autographs and by all accounts the line was so long that it was outside the door of the huge mall, and he also promoted the upcoming signings by Spike Dudley, Chris Benoit, Kane and Bret Hart during the weekend of the card. However, the real highlight of the show came when former WCW champion and current WWE superstar Booker T. called in the five o’clock hour.

Booker pretty much talked about his recent re-signing with WWE for two more years, which is somewhat surprising especially since there were rumors that he was retiring and also due to the fact that he had recently opened up a wrestling academy with his brother, and former tag partner, Stevie Ray. When asked about the academy, Booker talked about the fact that it not only was a wrestling school, but it also was offering classes in self defense and mixed martial arts. He also said that it was his way of helping to keep kids off the streets, especially after his troubled past. He really felt that this was his way of giving back to the community. The funniest parts of the interview came when Doug kept calling Booker “Mr. T”. However, after the interview Joe set him straight by doing what he always does when Doug does something crazy, by calling Doug an idiot.

However, aside from that the duo really had fun with their bud RVD.

Most of the contract crap is outdated like hell. Also some is false. Forever I was reading Mark Henry made a million a year or so. Now I come to find out he only made like 300,000

I was amazed to see Steve Austin almost made 7 million one year according to some sources. Nuts for a wrestler...

Interesting news regarding Booker because one interview a little while back he said he might retire when his contract ends.

That makes three of us cuz I thought he was gonna be done too. Wonder if they'll give Booker a push now.

He does deserve at least one world title reign in WWE, he has earned it by being a hard worker and usually entertaing(let's pretend that whole voodoo magic thing never happened).
